Are you ready to do more at Ginger Cascades and become an important part of camp? In addition to all your favorite camp activities, you will have an opportunity to plan and lead a program for younger campers. You will learn new leadership skills, plan and complete a service project and go on two trips! During your first week, you will visit High Gravity Adventures Aerial Adventure Park in Boone, and then you will learn about the logistics of trip planning as you plan your off-site adventure for your second week! There will be plenty of time to relax and enjoy all the traditional camp activities you know and love from cascading to archery to campfire songs. Due to the nature of this program, girls must be able to swim two laps in the Ginger Cascades pool, tread water for two minutes and weigh at least 80 pounds to participate. 336-274-8491

During the week kids will be challenged to think outside the box and create other Maker projects such as animatronics, LED throwies and other cool builds! We will even have a human hungry hippo challenge! Step Into Sewing (Audrey Oberman) This project-based 3 hour camp-day (x5 days) will start with the basics so no experience is needed! Campers will work at their own individual pace and may choose from several smaller projects like a needle book and pincushion and then work on a larger project throughout the week, or a mixture of both! They will learn how to thread machines, sew straight seams and iron them, as well as some different techniques for finishing seams, and how to add closures (snaps, buttons, zippers, ties) to projects. More experienced campers may choose to learn how to cut from a pattern and make a simple garment such as pajama shorts. During all weeks...New children: will work on the basics and pick special projects and team up with the experts. Returning children: will be able to continue with what they heave learned, re-make favorites. NEED: labeled water bottle, snack, lunch and shopping bag to hold projects.
