Nasimco Youth Leadership Retreat 2016 - Fruitland Park, FL
NASIMCO is pleased to announce the 2016 Youth Leadership Retreat with the theme of “Thinking Outside the Box: Making Your Voice Count!” This year the retreat will be held in sunny Orlando, Florida. It is an initiative led by youth with the vision of creating a forum for dialogue to enhance the ability of participants to think outside the box, engage in self-reflection, become socially conscious and have the confidence to act upon it in their local and global communities. This year’s retreat is hosted by the Husseini Islamic Center of Florida, INC. at the Warren W. Willis United Methodist Camp in sunny Fruitland Park, Florida. The retreat will combine facilitated workshops, debates, dialogue and recreational activities in order to optimize learning opportunities for all participants. It will take place during the Labour Day weekend, from September 2nd to September 5th, 2016. The intended participants are all youth ages 18 to 25. Registration is USD $200.00 per participant, which includes food, lodging, and ground transportation within Orlando. Spaces at the retreat are limited to 30 participants. 5 Days to Broadway - Session II Shrek - Ohlook Performing Arts Center
Interested in learning the ropes of being in a musical or maybe youre a theater veteran and just cant get enough of the stage? Whatever your experience come join us for our mini production camps this summer. Session I explores songs and dances from the Oz stories of musical theater: The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, and Wicked. Session II explores songs & scenes from Shrek Jr. Camp focuses on putting the production together as well as healthy vocal/singing production with dance combinations and character development while learning to seamlessly combine these disciplines. All Day Dance - Maryland Youth Ballet
For students ages 7-9*. Students will participate in a fun dance-filled week with ballet technique classes and introductions to other styles of dance. Rutgers 2016 Design Intensive Website: This program seeks to develop the graphic design skills of motivated high school artists. Created and supervised by Mason Gross faculty, the curriculum focuses on core principles of design while introducing relevant software. Participants will become familiar with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign while exploring visual problems and producing work suitable for a college admissions portfolio. The Design Intensive includes studio work, technical demonstrations, group critiques, and a field trip to New York City to visit working design studios. Primary emphasis is placed on building visual awareness, and on making software serve the designers vision.
