JDRF has partnered together with Camp Soaring Eagle to offer a FREE CAMP to Type One Diabetic children ages 8-15 to come experience the healing power of laughter! CSE offers two camper weekends dedicated to T1D kids in a session for Teens and a session for Youth. Youth T1D camp is for kids 8-12 and Teen T1D Camp is for kids 13-15. The camper session runs from Friday-Sunday. CSE provides the campers with opportunity to learn about diabetes management and encourages independent health care. Campers with diabetes feel normal because they see all their peers with the same challenging diagnosis. CSE provides a balanced diet and menu with all carb counts for all meals. Boy children of staff entering 8th grade or higher in Fall 2016 are welcome to register for our program for older boys, where they do age appropriate program activities and will develop leadership skills by helping out with the younger boys unit. Teacher: Ansley Young The wonders of paper and paint come to life in this camp, where 3D projects are built and produced from papier mache, paper bags, watercolor paint, acrylic paint and dimensional embellishments, like beads, yarn, and found objects. Participants will brain storm ideas for these 3D projects on the first day, and will walk away with fabulous creations, which might be masks, sculptures, or an imaginary 3D robot, at the end of the week. Join us for the last 10 minutes of camp on the final day for an art gallery walk in the classroom. We close online registration 24 hours prior to camp start.
