I have sent my kids there for three years now, and I do not regret a single penny spent! They have great facilities, great trips and now that my kids are older (11 and 13) they have fun overnights! My oldest boy is now talking about how excited he is to get a summer job at this camp when he turns 14 and be like the great counselors he has had. Kids ages 6-18 are invited to take their sports performance to the next level at this camp designed to maximize their athletic potential. Our coaches will utilize innovative training methods that are proven to develop the skills and abilities of young athletes striving for peak performance in their chosen sports. Professional athletes, including retired NFL Running Back Dorsey Levens, will be in attendance, and we're giving away some great prizes too. 2nd Annual Summer Youth Camp - Manteno, IL
We will be taking 20 young men ages 10 to 18 to Camp Shaw-was-nas-see for three days and two nights of fun, learning and relaxation. Activities included at this event are First Aid, Map & Compass Reading, Basketball, Swimming, Archery, Nature Trail Walks, Zip Lines, Strength and Endurance Training, Mens Rap, where on last year we talked about the detriments of gangs, drugs and violence, and much much more. All meals will be provided. Last year we paid $60 per person to go to this event but through the generous donations of our donors we didnt have to charge any of the families for their young men to participate in this event. We were also able to purchase our insuance and supplies through our donors. This year we have been given a discount $50 per camper and we are praying for the same support this year. History Comes Alive with Classical Theater - Wizard of Oz - Location: Center for The Creative Arts
This is a truly unique course especially designed for the home-schooled that incorporates history, literature, and performance. This classic novel/play will be interpreted and performed as students discuss the playwright and the time in which the author lived. History comes alive as students also create living portraits of imaginary and real characters during that period of history. The Wizard of Oz is a beloved classic. A cyclone carries Dorothy and her dog, Toto, to the magical land of Oz, where they encounter all the famous characters from the pen of L. Frank Baum... Dorothy, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Woodsman, the rubber-legged Scarecrow, Glinda the Good Witch, Oz, Munchkins, Winged Monkeys, The Witch of the North, and the evil Witch of the West, who is determined to destroy Dorothy and steal the secret of her magical slippers. Curtains (A Broadway Musical Whodunnit)- 4 weeks - The Georgetown Palace Theatre
Newly licensed for teen productions, Curtains is a musical send-up of backstage murder mysteries set in the brassy, bright, and promising year of 1959 where Bostons Colonial Theatre is host to the opening night performance of a new musical, Robbin Hood of the Old West. The show follows the fallout when the supremely untalented star of the show is murdered during her opening night curtain call and the entire cast and crew are immediately suspects. It is up to Lt. Frank Cioffi, a police detective who moonlights as a musical theater fan to save the show, solve the case, and maybe even find love before the show reopens, without getting killed himself. This Tony and Drama Desk Award nominee is filled with Broadway favorites like "What Kind of Man?", "The Womans Dead," and "Show People." Animals within a food chain have some ultimate adaptations for hunting and survival. Learn about apex predators like orcas, sharks, giant squid, and osprey and find out some incredible strategies the prey of these predators utilize to avoid detection. Analyze the animals in the NESS touch tanks for interesting behaviors and dissect a shark. Includes: dissection, 1 boat trip, & snorkeling 860-535-9362

This camp will dive into the extraordinary world of Dr. Seuss. Using both well-loved and little known stories by Dr. Seuss imaginations will be going wild. Daily books, crafts, dramatic play, and learning activities (rhyming, comprehension, recall) will be part of the experience that is Dr. Seuss. There will be no class on Friday, July 3rd.
