What is Youth Councils? Youth Councils is a three day retreat specifically for Jr. High, High School and college age youth to be challenged and strengthened in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Who can attend Youth Councils? We have two tracks to set up so that we can tailor everything to the specific needs of your youth. To attend the Jr. High Track, youth must be in 6th, 7th or 8th grade by April 8, 2016. In order to be in the High School Track, youth need to be in 9th grade-age 25 by that same date. When is Youth Councils 2016? Youth Councils 2016 is being held from April 8-10, at Wonderland Camp & Conference Center. How much does Youth Councils cost? Only $25. Only $25?! Your West Circle Drive Hy-Vee is offering a series of cooking classes designed to teach teens (age 12-17) essential cooking skills! Each class will feature a different theme. Teens will be able to eat their creations at the end of the class. July 28th: Italian cooking: pastas and sauces Classes will be taught in our DISH classroom by the in-store dietitian and one of our talented chefs. Fees: $25 per class, due on date of registration. Teen Empowerment & Survival Camp Summer 2016 - Tucson, AZ
This camp is designed specifically with teenagers’ safety and well-being in mind. As parents, we want our teenagers to be safe, but we also want them to grow up feeling comfortable with themselves, having a healthy self-esteem and self-image. This means equipping them with the skills and knowledge to assess and deal with both physically and psychologically threatening situations. Safety at school cannot be overstressed. Since this where our teenagers spend a large majority of their day regularly, the probability of their being exposed to, or involved in, dangerous or unhealthy situations is extremely high. Whether it’s an outside threat that poses a danger to the entire school, or a fellow student whose words and actions are psychologically damaging to an individual, our teenagers should know how to assess and act before, during, and after an event. Youth Learn to Row Camp - Water Sports Center
Learn to row this summer! Participants learn proper rowing technique, whole body conditioning and water safety while making new friends and enjoying a new and fun activity. Youth who particpate during the summer get a head start on team rowing if they choose to row during the school year. All camps are two weeks and there is no limit to the number of sessions a participant can sign up for. Eligibility - anyone who has never rowed prior to summer 2016, ages 13-18 and entering 8th - 12th grade in fall 2016. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LOCR is open to student athletes, ages 13-18 (8th-12th grade), regardless of experience. Practice is daily after school, Monday through Friday, 3:45-6:15p, and Saturday mornings 7:30-10:00a. LOCR offers a Fall racing season, Winter training season, Spring racing season, plus options row during the summer months. Rowers new to the sport are considered Novice and after their first year advance to Varsity. Through a partnership with the local high schools, Varsity athletes have an opportunity to letter just as they would in a sport offered through their school. Are you ready to learn what it takes to be an Outdoor Adventurer?! Spend the week learning how to pack a backpack like a pro, work as a team to navigate using map and compass, cook over an open fire you built yourself, and basic shelter construction using a tarp and Para cord. Youll spend time learning how to meal plan and what equipment is needed for a trip, as well as how to read the weather. The Outward Bound staff will help you escape to nature and survive with ease. This camp includes two field trips to put all of your new skills to the test! An additional waiver is required with registration. All registrants agree to the policies and procedures of Youth Programs, including change fees, cancellation fees, deadlines, and other details found in the program materials and parent handbook. Well use the tools used in the field to collect evidence from our mock crime scenes. Campers will learn how a crime is actually solved and learn how Biology, Chemistry and Physics plays a major role in the investigation! Campers use microscopes to analyze fibers, use facial composite software, and more! Sample Projects: Blood Analysis; Fiber, Handwriting, Fingerprinting, and DNA Analysis! Camp Mark Seven offers a place where hearing children of Deaf parents could come together to learn about, and better understand the two worlds that they simultaneously live in, and where they could explore, identify, and strengthen their unique C/KODA identities and develop individually as leaders. All of this would occur, ideally, in a recreational camping environment that would foster a lot of interaction and activities for each child and youth. Program activities: Swimming and tubing. Paddle a canoe on the chosen rivers/lakes and camp out under the stars. Low ropes course. Diverse outdoor games. Arts & crafts. Hike different mountains. Evening Bonfires. Shopping in Old Forge and Inlet. Campers will create skits for Parents Night; Parents Night is offered at the end of the program, and family members are invited to come and watch their childs skits.
