WEEK 5 2016 - First Baptist Church
Spiritual Emphasis: Our counselors take every opportunity to minister to the campers spiritual needs through Bible study and personal interaction. We seek to integrate a biblical worldview in all our time we spend together. We understand this is a great opportunity not only to ell the campers about Gods Word, but also to show them how it is related to everyday life. Paul said it well when he wrote, "For me to live is Christ." That is what we model here for our campers. Social Emphasis: We also understand the importance of your child meeting and learning to work together with other children and adults. We will help them learn positive ways to make friends and guide them in being friends to others. Teamwork will also be taught through various games and activities. Physical Emphasis: No couch potatoes here! We dont want our campers to just hang out and waste their day so we work at keeping them going. Whether its a day trip to Six Flags, making human ice cream sundaes, a rousing game of kickball, or a walk to the local park, there is never a dull moment at Cornerstone! Kaleidoscope Each week is designed around a fun theme to meet the developmental needs of children. Rising PK2nd grade children work in small groups directed by early childhood specialists. Activities include: art, creative snacks, music and movement, games, Spanish, science, and sports. Do it all at Kaleidoscope. Themes: A Bugs Life, Around the World, Storyland, and Odyssey Under the Sea.. Each theme is presented in music/drama and art. Wear comfortable camp clothes and tennis shoes. Meal A meal will be provided to the camper at the end of the camp. What to Bring Each camper receives a camp T-shirt check-in. This is a non-contact camp, so football pads are not needed. T-shirts and shorts are required for all practice sessions. Each camper will be provided a UT jersey to wear during the course of the camp. At the conclusion of the camp, the camper MUST return the jersey to the managers.
