10th Annual Austin Global Youth Peace Summit - Marble Falls, TX
The 10th Annual Global Youth Peace Summit will unite 70 youth (ages 14-17) from 25+ countries for a week-long experience dedicated to personal growth, healing, cultural exchange, leadership development and community building. The 10th Annual Texas Global Youth Peace Summit will take place August 15th-21st, 2016 at Camp Champions in Marble Falls, Texas. The Summit is a place for healing… Some of the youth who attend have experienced traumatic circumstances: extreme poverty, religious persecution, child labor, gang violence, abuse and neglect. Some have witnessed the atrocities of war and have literally run for their lives; many have been uprooted from their native cultures and are struggling to integrate into an entirely foreign world. By sharing their stories with others, Summit participants find themselves heard, celebrated, and empowered. Using simple tools such as crayons and paints, children will be encouraged to draw how they feel as they listen to different musical styles. Creating pictures that help express how young people process music is a great way to fully experience their senses and bring that music to life. 703-444-5888

Lycée International de Los Angeles (LILA) will be offering a bilingual French and English program for children between the ages of 15 and 30 months old. The program, Mommy & Moi, will teach French to parents and children in a warm, loving, and supportive environment. This camp is a great way for dancers to have the opportunity to try many types of dance. Each class will begin with a warm-up stretch and flexibility workout. The, 30 minutes of each class will be dedicated to ballet technique, which is the root of all dance styles. The students will explore new styles of dance. Monday and Wednesday will be dedicated to Lyrical, Tuesday and Thursday will be dedicated to Jazz and Hip Hop. Each day the students will finish class working on a small dance piece that they will perform for parents on the last day of camp.
