Taught by Ms. Hasanthi, this class is for students who are from 3 1/2 to 7 years of age. Classes offer young children exposure to Verity of art medians to help develop their fine motor skills. The art class develops the childs ability to create independent drawings on their own, which enables children to participate in international and local art competitions. They will develop strength of mind and an ordered intellect and will be able to think for themselves. Students use pastels, acrylic and tempera paints to create their art work. Our field trips will lead us to Brecksville Reservation to hunt for geocaches and the Cleveland Rock Gym tol experience indoor rock climbing. ET-FP-U13-U18 Boys and Girls - Meredith College Turf Field
Player Evaluation Events are held to determine readiness/acceptance into the Elite Technique program. Elite Technique is a 40-week training program divided into four, 10-week Cycles (two, 10-week Fall programs and two, 10-week Spring programs). Fall sessions run from early August through mid-December; Spring sessions run from early January through mid-June. One training session per week for 1¼ hours per session. Cost = $185 for each 10-week Cycle (paid before the start of each 10-week cycle); players will also be required to purchase one Elite Technique training jersey for the program (~$25). You must register for the entire 40-week series – registration for individual Cycles is not an option. Players may withdraw from the program at the end of a Cycle and future Cycles will not be charged. Two levels of the RailHawks Elite Technique field-player program: Elite Technique PLATINUM: Comprised of high-level Classic players. New players must register/attend a Player Evaluation Event to determine readiness/acceptance into the ET-Platinum or ET-Gold program. Flip for our Gymnastics Camps this summer. Whetstone Community Center offers one-week gymnastics camps for girls and boys beginner through advanced levels. Campers will participate in a skills test the first day to place them in an appropriate level. Both weeks offer gymnast instruction on the following apparatuses: Vault, Balance Beam, Bars, and Floor. Campers will participate in group as well as art activities. On Fridays of each week, campers will also get to participate in a themed performance to showcase their abilities in front of family and friends. Ages 13-14 must be a level 4 to attend. Flexible drop off time between 7:30-9 am. Flexible pick up time between 4-6 pm. Breakfast and lunch provided. Therapeutic Dog Reading - YSWPCS
The main objective of this program is to provide a relaxed and dog-friendly atmosphere, which allows students to practice the skill of reading. Many of the children chosen for this program have difficulties reading and as a result have developed self-esteem issues. They are often self-conscious when reading aloud in front of other classmates. By sitting down next to a dog and reading to the dog, all threats of being judged are put aside. The child relaxes, pats the attentive dog, and focuses on the reading. Reading improves because the child is practicing the skill of reading, building self-esteem, and associating reading with something pleasant. In addition to time reading with Therapy Dogs students will also have the opportunity to read to stuffed animals, use the RAZ Kids computer reading program and engage in other supplemental activities as chosen by the teachers. NEEDS : There will be a limit of 10 students allowed in the club. Struggling readers will be given first priority in joining the club and then it will be opened up to other students if not enough struggling readers apply.
