SummerART Camp Full Day Studio Art Program 9:30am to 5pm Studio Art with Sketching Studio Session II: July 11 to July 22 Studio Art Camp Matisse and Friends: Colors of the Modern Masters Purple skies, pink trees, red rooms, and green people! Its all about color and imagination this session, which will explore artwork by famous Modern and Post Modern masters like Henri Matisse, Paul Gauguin and Pablo Picasso. These artists experimented with depicting the world using fantastic colors, and a bold and expressive style of brushwork. We will experience color in a whole new way while working in fine art materials, found objects, collage, printmaking, and more! Campers will be inspired to create their own wild and wonderful masterpieces. Instruction will be given on foundation drawing techniques, such as line, shading, composition, proportion, and perspective using a variety of subject matter. I have been invited to be the Lead Speaker at this Year’s Youth Leadership Camp being held by The Christ United Methodist Church and Mississippi Families for Kids on the June 27, 2016 starting at 9:30 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. I am so honored that I have have been asked and I look forward to Empowering our Leaders of Tomorrow with the Encouraging of Words of God. In addition, to utilizing my life experiences, professional knowledge and expertise to inform participants of what is necessary to achieve their goals and how to become successful adults. It is my desire that youth will be able to reach inside of themselves to identify those strengths that will be the driving forces for their futures. So, on June 27, 2016 come out and help us..... Empower our Youth.... I do hope to see you there.

Join in the fun with Body Combat Trainer Tamicka Williams as we all punch and kick to support the Strong Kids Campaign! ALL Welcome ages 8 and up! (8-13 need adult present please) One hour of your time and a small donation can help a local child receive engage in a healthy lifestyle in a safe environment! It can subsidize day care services (starting at 6 weeks old until After School Age) and Summer Camp! Requested donation $10! The YMCA works every day to support healthy kids, youth development and social responsibility turning nobody in our community away for financial need!

Summer Mini Camp 2016 - Spruce Meadow Farm
Campers will have a riding lesson and a games/exercises on horseback session each day as well as a horsemanship lesson and craft project. (716) 741-2346
Wk 7 • Teen Screenprint - Kala Gallery and Classroom
Take a deep dive into becoming a screenprint expert using the professional equipment that Kalas studio has to offer. We will start with the basics of cutting stencils for DIY printing and then move into more complex methods including multi-layered, repeat pattern, and photography-based images. Print on paper, fabric, shirts, and other clothing. Whether you are interested in drawing, hand-lettering, digital media, photography or graphic design, this is the class for you! Instructor Bio: Claire Kessler-Bradner is a second-generation San Francisco printmaker. Growing up in the culture of the print shop, she developed a love of process and problem-solving, materials, equipment and tools, and the collaborative camaraderie of making together. Her work in printmaking, painting, drawing, book arts, and sculpture addresses the narrative intersection of place and memory. After earning her MFA at California College of the Arts, Claire returned to teaching fine art at the middle and high school level. She has been an artist in residence at Kala since 2010, and her work in book arts is carried by Seager Gray Gallery in Mill Valley. 510-841-7000 x203

The Green Team is a student-driven after-school club that will explore issues of environmental stewardship, sustainability, and conservation such as food waste composting, recycling, energy use, and air quality. This student team will participate in hands-on environmental science projects that will include conducting research, gathering data, and analyzing and sharing results. Learn to skillfully fly a remote controlled helicopter drone, then race the clock in our drone obstacle course. Take your drone home to enjoy after camp! Activities like archery, bb guns, and the climbing wall along with campfires and times of worship round off the program.
