Limerick Fire Company's Third Annual YOUTH FIREFIGHTER CAMP June 20-24, 2016; 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Ages 6-13 years of age Registration Fee: $35; deadline to register: May 30, 2016 Welcome to Limerick Fire Company’s Youth Firefighter Camp. Due to the success of our camp, the deadline to register cannot be extended and attendance is limited to 60 campers. All registered cadets will receive one LFC Fireman’s tee shirt and LFC baseball cap to wear as their ‘daily uniform’. Hat and designated ‘uniform shirt’ must be worn every day because it identifies which group the cadet is assigned to for the week. If you are interested in purchasing extra camp shirts, they must be ordered at the time of registration-$10 per shirt. Why try this Camp? You will: ►Learn fire safety you thought you knew & then apply what you’ve learned ►Learn about the fire house, trucks (apparatus), and personnel ►Hands-on with various equipment ►Ladders-learn the how-to’s ►Hoses-proper techniques to connect to the hydrant, flow water, roll up, etc. ►Extinguishers-the ABC’s ►Rescue tools during simulated live demonstrations ►Fire gear-bunker pants, jacket, helmet, safety gloves & glasses all provided ►Watch & participate in several live demonstrations with the firefighters ►And so much more…. NFL Pouncey Twins Youth Football Camp - Lakeland, FL
The Lakeland PAL Youth is proud to partner with NFL superstars Michael and Maurkice Pouncey to host the 6th Annual Pouncey Twins Youth Football Camp on Saturday July 9, 2016. The free camp will take place from 8AM – 12PM at Lakeland Christian School, located at 1111 Forest Park Street. Boys and girls ages six to sixteen are invited to come develop their football skills with help from NFL players and coaches from across Polk County. To guarantee a spot, parents must pre-register their child. Learn techniques to create a truthful and dynamic monologue performance. Campers will discover their acting niche and prepare a monologue that will let a director envision them in the role they seek. They will add to their bag of acting tools as they learn different methods of acting and which one works for them. This camp will incorporate drama games and improv. Instructor: Teresa Boling This camp may be combined with: 2-D Media Camp, Combined Cost: $340 OR What happens when a Divergent Maze Runner attends Vampire Academy? Classes will focus on both basic skills for jewelers and metalsmiths. One of the goals is to enlighten students on the importance of design, material, technique and craftsmanship. Art jewelry is cultivated through math and nature. You can find geometry in facet of nature. Geometry illustrates relationships of points, lines, angles, surfaces and solids. Geometry is a configuration of objects or parts that suggest geometric figure. Computer animation 2D: Using open source and freely available software, campers will learn to create 2D environments, animate their drawings and add color and sound. These are similar to the techniques used in creating professional animated films and video games. A reading and writing camp designed for 3rd – 5th grade girls. In a guided reading setting the girls will read and discuss childrens literature that focuses on building girls self-esteem. The curriculum includes a daily writing activity that will focus on grade appropriate writing skills and a creative art activity related to each book we read. We will also spend time outside playing games that will build positive friendship skills. Each day will include a snack, lunch and pool time. DeAnna Huffines graduated from Saint Marys in 1983 from high school and 1985 from College. She then attended Meredith College where she majored in education. She has been working with Wake County Public Schools at the elementary level for 18 years and has a small tutoring business on the side. 9194244028.0
