Nasimco Youth Leadership Retreat 2016 - Fruitland Park, FL
NASIMCO is pleased to announce the 2016 Youth Leadership Retreat with the theme of “Thinking Outside the Box: Making Your Voice Count!” This year the retreat will be held in sunny Orlando, Florida. It is an initiative led by youth with the vision of creating a forum for dialogue to enhance the ability of participants to think outside the box, engage in self-reflection, become socially conscious and have the confidence to act upon it in their local and global communities. This year’s retreat is hosted by the Husseini Islamic Center of Florida, INC. at the Warren W. Willis United Methodist Camp in sunny Fruitland Park, Florida. The retreat will combine facilitated workshops, debates, dialogue and recreational activities in order to optimize learning opportunities for all participants. It will take place during the Labour Day weekend, from September 2nd to September 5th, 2016. The intended participants are all youth ages 18 to 25. Registration is USD $200.00 per participant, which includes food, lodging, and ground transportation within Orlando. Spaces at the retreat are limited to 30 participants. 2016 Camp Journey Spring Overnight - Camp Twin Lakes
Camp Journey is an overnight camp focused on social skills, building friendships, teamwork, manners, and self-esteem. Camp activities include directed social skills instruction in a typical overnight camp setting. Camp Journey is available to campers age 9 to young adult with Moderate*, Mild, and HFA/Aspergers Syndrome. *A small number of spaces are available for campers that need more adult support in daily living skills, social interaction, and communication. Kiddie Camp - Pierce Park Pavilion
Join us for lots of camp fun this summer season! Kiddie camp is a week long structured camp for children ages 3-5. Campers will enjoy arts and crafts, games, daily swim lessons, and more! Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors teaches all swim lessons, and all camp staff are CPR certified. A daily snack will be provided, and children will enjoy a pizza party on Fridays. All children must be potty trained. All camps take place at Pierce Park Pool. All Children must be potty trained! Have them dressed in their swim suits when they come to camp. Bring towels. Young Paleontologist 7/25 - Open Door Church
Have a digger or a rock hound in the house? Then Young Paleontologist may solve your problems. Dinosaurs may be extinct, but they are very much alive during this week of camp. Special emphasis will be placed on observation, inference, data collection and just plain fun as our young scientists learn about a variety of dinosaurs and their habitats. QuadCopter Aerial Robotics – Ages 12-15 - Goleta Presbyterian Church
Price Includes $100 lab fee Campers will explore aerial robotics technology with fun and engaging educational scenarios and challenges. This camp offers aviation flight skills and interactive robotics training, and encourages camper interest in the career fields of Science, Math, and Engineering. Campers will build prototypes with the new technology and run test scenarios for safety, search, and rescue. Multiple teams of four will apply technology and planning to build a quad rotor designed for a specific first responder mission. Missions include: delivering pharmaceuticals to people in a disaster area, maneuvering the copter close to a (mock) hazardous waste container, and searching for a lost hiker.
