Students who earned D or F grades in either semester of the 2015-2016 school year may be required to remediate those grades in order to move to the next course in the sequence, receive graduation units, and/or remain eligible for college admissions. SJND offers summer remediation on campus through online course providers in a supervised learning environment. Students have the option to work with academic content tutors and receive personalized attention and course management from the Summer Academics Coordinator and staff. For those who need to take a second remediation course, we strongly recommend finishing one before starting the second. Come enjoy a week of theatrical experiences including: playwriting, costume design, the actors process, and even performance! Students will work collaboratively to create a short play which will be performed at the end of the week. They will use both imagination and research to inform their artistic choices in everything from design work to acting. Additionally, students will explore improvisational theatre in both long and short forms as a means to stimulating the playwriting process and deepening their acting skills. Students with and without theatre backgrounds are invited to come explore, learn, and play! Rachel Wright is a passionate theatre educator who seeks to help her students grow their understanding and compassion for the world, life, and humanity through the magnificent practice of theatre. WHAT IS Amplify Sleep Away Rock Camp? Amplify Sleep Away Rock Camp is an intensive one-week overnight program offered to girls ages 10-17 years old and is held at Ojai Valley Boarding School in Ojai, CA. Here girls of all skill levels have the opportunity to learn guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keys or other instruments. Girls will also form a band, write an original song, and perform at the Final Showcase for friends, families, and fans! In addition to all this, girls will have the opportunity to meet other girls and female musicians and mentors, as well as participate in enrichment activities such as workshops on media literacy or screen-printing, high ropes course, Dj-skills, Zine making and more.
