LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Boys Two Week Camp II - Camp Sancta Maria
The day at camp is set within the Catholic framework of a daily Mass and prayer service, but each year we welcome campers from all faiths. A two-week session at CSM has proven time and again to help build confidence and awareness that campers take home and to school. Spending two-weeks living, playing and praying with friends made on the basketball court or in the mess hall creates a bond that can last a lifetime. These friendships endure, even strengthen, during a winter at homes perhaps miles apart and are renewed year after year as campers grow together in their summer home, here among the nature and splendor of our 96 wooded acres. 231-546-3878

Things are coming into place fast for Bethel's Student ministry, Beta Sigma, to have our very own summer camp, designed specificaly by and for Bethel students and their friends. Many exciting details are still falling into place, but some very important ones are already set: - Our worship band for the whole week is The Hardcastles, our camp worship band for the last two years at Camp Eagle. - Our speaker is former hockey player, youth evangelist and long time youth pastor, Shawn Roberts, who has spoken to thousands upon thousand of students and seen thousands come to know Christ. - Activities we know we'll have: river tubing, swimming, gaga ball, ulimate, football, hiking, square dancing, bow and arrow tag, airsoft, bonfires, small group talks, team challenges, camp challenges... - Best of all, we'll be serivng the community and the camp throughout the week doing service project. - So many more things to come, shirts, journals, themed meals and more...we'll keep you updated as things move. We are offering a Kid’s Night In at Camp so parents can have a date night. This month's theme is FALL FUN. The night will include camp activities,fall themed crafts, games, pizza and applesauce for dinner and a movie. (if your child has dietary restrictions, please send something to eat with them.) ECEA Youth Camping Trip - Killeen, TX
The youth have voted for their year-end field trip to be at Parrie Haynes Ranch for some camping and trail riding! If you are a current ECEA youth member, your campsite and day fees are paid for by youth club money raised at our youth fundraiser show. Please let me know if you are planning to attend, if you need RV hookups, how many horses you are bringing and how many people you are bringing so that I can make reservations next week. We will have orgainized group dinners and group breakfast. Bring your own drinks, lunches and snacks. It's going to be a blast!
Teen Script Writing & Directing Camp - Seattle, WA
This summer camp is for teens 13 - 17, who want to learn how to create a production ready short script. Students will be paired in groups of two and will work collaboratively in creating a shootable three to five page script. Students who participate in TheFilmSchool Camp will receive guaranteed admission into the SIFF Teen Production Camp (separate registration and fee through SIFF Education). Scripts from the TheFilmSchool Camp will be chosen for production in the SIFF Teen Production Camp and will be shot at Seattle Center. Date: August 15 - August 19. Step Into Sewing (Audrey Oberman) This project-based 3 hour camp-day (x5 days) will start with the basics so no experience is needed! Campers will work at their own individual pace and may choose from several smaller projects like a needle book and pincushion and then work on a larger project throughout the week, or a mixture of both! They will learn how to thread machines, sew straight seams and iron them, as well as some different techniques for finishing seams, and how to add closures (snaps, buttons, zippers, ties) to projects. More experienced campers may choose to learn how to cut from a pattern and make a simple garment such as pajama shorts. During all weeks...New children: will work on the basics and pick special projects and team up with the experts. Returning children: will be able to continue with what they heave learned, re-make favorites. NEED: labeled water bottle, snack, lunch and shopping bag to hold projects.
