Participants will finish up the week feeling like blinders have been taken off. They will see the world differently. And theyll have fun, too! All students need to bring is a curiosity about how money works, a willingness to think about things differently, and a desire to learn as much as possible. We will not be leaving campus. Some other "experts" will be coming to us. You can reach me at I have the wonderful opportunity to otherwise serve on our staff as the Assistant Head of School & Director of Upper School. Global Scientists - Middle School
Nearly one billion people on our planet lack access to clean water. Thats one billion people who cant drink from a faucet, shower or cook a meal without risk of illness - or worse! In this course, students will collaborate with a Global Partner Student from a developing country to help quench the thirst of the world. Through video message exchanges they will learn about each other and explore how water is used in each others culture, study the chemical properties of water and the water cycle, and then use the engineering design process to build, test and tweak biodomes, water towers, and water filtration systems to better understand how water systems can be polluted and purified. As their understanding of the subject matter grows, students will work closely with their Global Partners to develop a hands-on research project that shows the water problems each of their countries face while sharing practical ways to address these problems and help bring clean water to the world!
