LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Football Camp-Future Stars Skills - Everett Recreation Center
For Rising 2-5th graders. The purpose of this camp is to provide basic fundamental instruction for all offensive and defensive positions relating to the game of football. Our goal is that each camper gains a better understanding of the football positions that they are interested in through various skills and drills. There will be a 20-minute break between the defensive and offensive instruction at which time snacks and drinks will be available to purchase. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Campers need to bring a water bottle, cleats, tennis shoes, and a bag to keep personal belongings in each day. Quarterbacks are encouraged to bring their own league regulation ball if they have one with their name on it. LOCATION Everett Athletic Complex at Everett Recreation Center

Games and Science Camp - Camp Talahi
GAS Camp is for all of the kids who just cant get enough of games, sports and science. We will be playing games such as ultimate Frisbee, Handball, Splashball (similar to water polo), along with old favorites like soccer, basketball and volleyball. When our bodies need a rest we will use our minds to create simple machines and science experiments! Designed for campers who have completed grades 5-8. GAS Camp will run concurrently with MADD Camp. Campers will have meals together and occasionally overlap activities like worship and waterfront time, but most of their programming will be separate. 810-844-1499

This camp, guided by the Montessori method, offers a mix of quiet play, story time, and outdoor activities that follow the rhythm of the child and the particular group. Our projects and destinations include: •A speedy train to travel across the USA •An ultralight plane to fly from New York to Paris •A dunebuggy to race from Paris to Moscow •A dogsled to travel across eastern Russia •A sailboat to cross the Pacific and get to the finish line Students build motor-driven vehicles with LEGO® components, customize their projects and run them on missions. Our class keeps an eye on how our virtual race opponents are doing, and answers questions together at the end of each leg to gain extra mileage or place roadblocks to slow down the competition. This is a fun way to develop new building skills. Students learn how different vehicles work, how the size and placement of gears affect their projects power and speed, how pulley belts are used to transfer motion, how to make a trailer for vehicles, how wheels and axles work, and other science and engineering concepts.
