Skyhawks Skateboarding Camp - Olympic Park
Experience basic skateboarding instruction with an emphasis on balance, pushing the board, kick turns, maneuvering, and manual. Campers will progress as they accomplish skills. A liability form must be signed by a parent before participation. Participant-to-coach ratio is approximately 12:1. All campers will receive a t-shirt and a merit award! What is it about wax that appeals to our senses of touch, taste, sight and smell? Beeswax. Paraffin. Soy wax. Gel wax. In this camp you will learn how to work with wax as a creative medium that is as versatile as clay or metal. You will also explore how wax is made and how the very different chemical and physical properties influence what it is best used for! Campers will create their own candles, practice wax resist techniques and will even learn the age-old craft of encaustic painting (using melted wax as paint).
