Hey guys. We are in need of volunteers to help out at the Kid's Triathlon the university is hosting. This is a fun all day event on April 19th with several volunteer shifts to help fit your schedule! If you'd like to help make this a great experience for the young ones, please comment/post on this event telling us when you can volunteer. The shifts are: - 4:45am - 9am (this will entail mostly set up and concessions) - 9am – 1pm (concessions and help with trash pick-up during event) - 1pm – 4pm (concessions and help with trash pick-up during event) - 4pm – 7pm (concessions, tear down and help with trash pick-up during event) The more volunteers we get to help out with the event the better it helps support the club. ALL Youth! On behalf of the District Youth Board, we greet you in the name of Jesus Christ! We pray and hope that you and your youth group are well and blessed. Camp is around the corner and we are excited about it! This year’s theme is “EXCHANGE.” We have felt God tug at our hearts and steer us in this direction with this theme in mind. When the Apostle Paul received his calling from God, he wrote “… for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ” (Philippians 3:8, NKJV). An exchange occurred in his life. He left behind knowledge, position, and commodities to live his life for Christ. Our goal for this year’s youth camp is for young people to understand that in every EXCHANGE, something must be given up in order for something to be gained; and our ultimate goal is to gain Christ.

This chess camp combines the Classical strategies of chess with new innovative modern technology that creates a very FUN-damental experience for all kids regardless of their chess playing abilities. Checkmate Champions is more than a chess camp, it?s a chess experience. While in the class, students will learn not only how to play chess but they will learn the rules, history, and also how to record their games so that they can reflect on them at a later date. Students will have the chance to play their favorite chess variation games such as Bughouse (team chess), Allies, Bobby Fischer chess and IPad chess to name a few. After all the fun and games, the kids will have the opportunity to participate in a real life class chess tournament. They will play against different opponents and get practice using an actual tournament clock.
