All Pack Event. Enjoy the wonderful Oregon Coast while working on your rank advancement and our Summertime Pack Award. Exact timing is TBD, but the dates are reserved. I have reserved 30 scout and 10 adults slots. We have time to adjust, but the sooner we get this nailed down the better. I will have a sign up sheet for the next Pack/Den Meeting next Thursday for all those interested in going. There is a fee for this $243/Scout and $115/Adult. We do get a free adult admission for every 6 Scouts that go. At the next Committee Meeting we will discuss how we want to ration that out, either by need, or reduce everyone's cost equally, etc.

Grades K-5: Musical Theatre! Broadway! Class meets only on Mondays from 3:00- 4:15 The class dates are 3/7, 3/14, 3/28, 4/4, 4/11, 4/18, 4/25- 7 weeks ($98) Musical Theatre! In our most popular session, we invite your student to join us in song and dance as we perform an original Dramatic Education Musical! Students will learn choreography to hit Broadway songs all accompanying a scripted musical to be performed at the end of the session! 407-494-1744
Adapted Bike Camp - Forsythe Middle School
This summer, LightUp is pleased to be partnering with the Ann Arbor Public School Recreation & Education Department to bring an exciting new bike camp to Ann Arbor. This camp gives individuals with special needs the thrill of independently riding a two-wheel bicycle. Developed by iCan Shine Inc., this program is offered through a 5-day summer camp. Camp runs during the week of June 27th for 75 minutes per day, there are 5 sections of camp to choose from. Monday- Friday , 75 minutes per day. This summers (2016) camp is geared specifically to the needs of youth diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. To apply, complete an application with the Ann Arbor Public School Recreation and Education Department. LightUp will provide a limited number of scholarships to families who may qualify based on financial need. Follow this link to apply to LightUps financial scholarship. February: Build-A-Thon At Keystone Science School, STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) is an integral part of every experience. The Girls in STEM program dives even deeper by exploring not only the STEM concepts in an empowering girls-only environment, but also highlighting real women currently working in STEM careers. This program builds leadership and collaboration between the girls involved as they engage in fun, hands-on activities that impart new skills and confidence in science, tech, engineering, and math - areas in which girls are inclined to be wallflowers. A key element of the program is a teaching technique called positive growth feedback in which "failure" is viewed as a necessary and even welcome step on the path to success. Research has shown that girls are especially receptive to this teaching technique and the scientific method is the ideal process for applying this technique to valuable learning. Girls in STEM will: Motivate and encourage participation and leadership in young females in STEM related fields. Incorporate the engineering and scientific process into interactive, engaging activities, while promoting positive growth feedback. Horsback riding is for one day only, during this time frame. The girls will be shuttled to Horsin Around where they will receive basic instruction on horse care and then a short ride on a horse compatible with their horse riding capability.
