They will also learn how to read a script, mark stage directions, memorize lines, audition and conquer stage fright. Students focus on acting and character development through exercises, techniques, and improvisation Actors will develop a strong understanding of character development, acting techniques and monologues, as well as theatre etiquette. This class is all about being an actor. Bring lawn chairs to relax in. This will be our final Kids Gun Safety Class this season. Ages 5-17. We have found that this is a great learning experience for parents and children alike. We are working with the local law enforcement community to have officers, equipment and K9's available for demonstration. Children will be shooting .22 and 9mm pistols as well as .22 rifles. An instructor will be with the children to assist in holding. Please confirm in the discussion thread if you are coming. Donations of cash or ammo will be accepted at the registration table but are not mandatory for attendance. All donations go to future children's classes. Registration will start at 12:00 so please be early! Thanks!!

The objective of this club is to initiate what we hope will be a lifelong interest in a culture that is becoming an increasingly important player on the world stage. The program follows the My First Chinese Words curriculum, which offers an introduction to such key vocabulary as numbers, colors, body parts and animal names. Students will read supplementary Chinese storybooks, watch DVDs about Martial Arts and create arts and crafts related to Chinese holidays and traditions. Our bilingual, bicultural instructor, Wei Chen, is deeply committed to teaching Mandarin to children and to igniting their curiosity about foreign cultures.
