LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Resident High Performance Camp (Housing Included) - Stanford
Open to any and all male entrants aged 9-18 years, this camp is designed primarily for competitive gymnasts, levels 6 through 10. Athletes choosing the Resident option will get the full Stanford experience, staying in the student dormitories and eating in the dining commons. Gymnasts will be grouped by age and competitive experience. This is a unique camp, as it is intended for highly motivated and college bound gymnasts. The High Performance Camp is gymnastics focused with 6-7 hours of training per day. Coached by members of the Stanford Mens Gymnastics Team as well as the Stanford Coaching staff, this camp offers gymnasts the opportunity to raise their skills to the next level. During camp, gymnasts will be coached and taught each aspect of training at the highest level. This includes technical coaching on all events, air-sense, execution/presentation, strength and flexibility. Additionally they will be provided insight on the cycling process (assuring peak performance at a specific time), the NCAA Mens Gymnastics program, Stanfords Mens Gymnastics program and being eligible for a collegiate program. LIGHT TO DARK: DARKROOM EXPLORATION - Walker-MacKenzie Studio - Gertrude Herbert
Instructor: Rosanne Stutts The technical aspects of black-and-white photography will be emphasized so that students can work more creatively with their camera and in the darkroom. Camera operations, use of equipment such as lenses, tripod, and light meter, and correct film selection are among the topics to be covered. Learn basic density and contrast controls for both negatives and prints, along with proper film development. Basic darkroom procedures, safety, printmaking techniques, burning and dodging, toning, archival processing and print presentation will also be discussed. Please bring your own 35-mm camera with manual controls. The University of West Florida soccer coaches own and manage The International Centers of Excellence soccer programs, which are geared both toward the serious and recreational player. We have two objectives for every participant; improve and have fun. The focus will be on developing the individuals ability and team concepts appropriate for each players individual needs. Each player will learn and refine techniques that will enable them to pursue their game at the next level. We employ a series of activities and situational play that foster learning and creative thinking on the soccer field. We also provide a healthy amount of small-sided competition daily.
