LATEST CAMPS NEWS: 4th - 9th grades- Tennis Camp for Intermediate Players - Saint Marys School
This camp is a week long session where players are expected to have previous tennis experience. The players will be grouped by skill level and will be given the opportunity to improve their skills in a fun and encouraging atmosphere. The daily schedule will consist of match play, drills, competitive games, individual time with the coaches, footwork training, strategic thinking, and pool time. Players will work on the following: groundstrokes, volleys, overheads, serves, singles and doubles play. Each day Players will learn new techniques and different ways to approach their opponent in a match. Players will be faced with constant challenges in a way that will only increase their passion for tennis. This camp will help further develop the players skills, giving them the confidence to continue playing tennis. Hannah Jones, a member of the Saint Marys School class of 2016, will be leading this summers Tennis Academy. She has been playing tennis since she was a young girl and has a passion for this sport. Hannah has been on the SMS Varsity tennis team for three years and is also involved with many extracurricular activities in and outside of school. Discover how rocks are formed and practice rock sorting like a geologist. Take a closer look at snails and other animals with shells. Work as scientists to investigate spores and learn the mysteries behind mold by putting together an experiment to watch mold grow in a safe enclosed environment. As we move through our investigations extend your land-based quest and look to the sky and experiment with wind and learn the science of how clouds form. In addition to doing daily science activities we will have the opportunity to explore different park habitats, play games, and engage in fun craft projects. 408-827-5507

Imagine a camp where youth can learn swimming techniques, enjoy free swim with friends, and then spend the rest of the day playing awesome high activity games and crafts. Now imagine that this dream actually exists. We bring your H2O Adventures. Along with traditional outdoor camp activities and games, each participant will receive 30 minutes of swim instruction (provided by aquatic staff) followed by 15 minutes of free swim each morning, except on field trip days. Participants should arrive wearing a bathing suit with a towel and pre-applied sunscreen (Mon-Thur) with active running clothes and shoes in a bag. Every Friday, we?ll be going on an exciting field trip. One t-shirt will be provided to each participant for the summer session. Depending on the week, breakfast and lunch may or may not be provided. When the sun is at its peak, it?s the shade we shall seek. We?ll be playing fun water games and activities all week long, because we know summer gets HOT.
