LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Adventure Camp - Week 3 (4 Days Only) - The Greenwell Foundation
Adventure Camp (ages 8-12 by first day of camp session). This week, Camp runs for 4 days only (Tuesday to Friday) Why is Adventure Camp different? Campers are provided the opportunity to explore further into the park with longer hikes, shelter building, and learning how to build a campfire – and then Smores! Part of Adventure Camp is letting the group direct what activities they would like to do by coming up with new and exciting adventures. The staff has the freedom to be creative when making these fun adventures come to life. Campers will have an opportunity to kayak twice during the week, including a visit to the Hollywood Oyster Company. They will create and run their own unique obstacle course, go fishing and crabbing from the pier, and build their own boats out of recycled materials and test to see if they are sea-worthy. Mid-week, campers will hike to the Manor House area where they can build forts with bamboo, explore the gardens, play water games and capture the flag, visit the Barn and participate in our Nature Time program. We certainly had a lot of fun playing around with the name of Camp Kupugani on the ride up. Once we got to the site for the drop off I was pleasantly surprised at how fast our boy seemed to acclimate to his new surroundings. Instructor : Josh Newman currently the Assistant Baseball Coach for Marshall University and formerly with the Colorado Rockies and the KC Royals. This camp is open to all boys and girls, ages 7-12 in all school districts. Josh will be covering the fundamentals of the game for softball and baseball. Advance Registration and payment must be received no later than June 6th to guarantee a spot at camp and a tshirt. *Early Registration is $35 per athlete and must be received by June 1st and includes lunch and a tshirt. *after June 1st Group registration of 10 or more players for $45 per player and $40 for siblings. Each group of 10 will receive the 11th player free. We request that your 11th player be need based. Summer Camp @ Arroyo Seco Park Group A (8-9) - City of Pasadena
The Arroyo Seco Adventure Camp offers opportunities to learn about our local, natural resources in a fun and exciting way. Now in its third year, this innovative camp pairs environmental education with traditional camp activities. Based in Brookside Park with regular activities in the lower Arroyo, this is an outdoor camp. The first week of camp focuses on origins of the Arroyo Seco and the geological events that created this amazing space. Other weeks focus on plants of the Arroyo, local animals and myths, protecting and exploring nature and survival skills. Conservation specialists lead daily nature walks and instruct on conservation of environmental resources, native plants and local wildlife. Other activities include casting pond fly-fishing, archery, horseback riding, hiking, environmental education lessons, swimming, art and group games. Campers go on a weekly environmental themed field trip. In previous years, trips included kayaking, nature centers and local farms. Staff ratio is 1 to 10. This camp is a great fit for campers ages eight to twelve who are interested in nature and are called to explore different kinds of recreation. Campers are grouped by age, and need sturdy closed toe shoes, sunscreen and hats. Lunch and snack included. ...
Cavalier Cross Country Camp - Boy Camper - The Miller School
The camp aims to prepare campers to compete in running events from 800-meters through 10,000-meters and cross country. There will be two running activities daily, each will be between 25 minutes and 60 minutes in duration, depending on age and ability. Teams are encouraged to come as a group, and learn to work together. A team is considered 5 or more from the same school, residential camper price is $445. To register as a team you must call/email Todd Morgan to register. We will have expert speakers covering racing, training, and strength strategies. Camp facilities include miles of trains, gym, pool, lake, canoes, etc.. A full-time camp counselor staff includes a certified ATC Trainer, and life guard. Even though temperatures in the mountains remain cooler, we encourage you to bring a fan if you choose. Camp refund cut-off is July 1 (Unless reason from physician). 434-962-8054

The all skills camp covers all aspects of the game of volleyball with an emphasis on fundamentals. The techniques and skills taught in this camp are designed to provide a strong foundation that allows players to develop into high level athletes as they continue to play. All skills will be covered including passing, setting, hitting, defense, blocking, serving as well as offensive and defensive systems. Every registration requires full payment. A $50 fee will be retained on all cancellations for any reason to cover credit card fees and administrative expenses. The remaining amount will be credited back to ones account if paid by credit card. If paid by check, the University will cut a check back to the original payee. For prompt processing, refund requests should be made prior to the start of camp. A pro-rated fee system will be in effect for those campers only attending partial days of camp. Grand Lake fall softball league is now accepting registrations forms. The league will start on August 21st and will play five weekend doubleheaders. The league is open to girls in the 3rd through 12th grades. The league will be divided into three different leagues: 3rd -5th will play in a machine pitch league, 6th – 8th graders will play in the jr. high division and 9th to 12th graders will play in the high school division. The cost is $100 for High School players and Jr. high players. The 3rd to 5th grade division is $79. The deadline to register is Aug 1st.
