Since 1999, the Hamilton Area YMCA has provided recreational and social opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Through our SKOR program, participants build self-confidence and social skills, form lifelong friendships, and strive to achieve their highest potential. In addition to celebrating the achievements of our SKOR participants and sampling great food and cheer from local establishments, we will also recognize Gregg Gates as the Maurice T. Perilli Friend of SKOR. Tickets are $65.00 per person before September 21. Tickets are $75.00 per person after September 21. Youth Softball & Baseball Fundamentals Camp by Josh Newman - South Web
Instructor : Josh Newman currently the Assistant Baseball Coach for Marshall University and formerly with the Colorado Rockies and the KC Royals. This camp is open to all boys and girls, ages 7-12 in all school districts. Josh will be covering the fundamentals of the game for softball and baseball. Advance Registration and payment must be received no later than June 6th to guarantee a spot at camp and a tshirt. *Early Registration is $35 per athlete and must be received by June 1st and includes lunch and a tshirt. *after June 1st Group registration of 10 or more players for $45 per player and $40 for siblings. Each group of 10 will receive the 11th player free. We request that your 11th player be need based. Individual Registration fees are $50 for the first child and $40 for each additional child in the same family. Please make checks payable to South Webster Little League. Architectural Adventures - Middle School
Architectural Adventures combines science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts in a uniquely fun and challenging way valuable for young people to enjoy, that allows hands-on learning experiences. Children will be inspired by building upon their natural curiosity to learn about different aspects of modern architecture. For example, a ‘green engineering unit allows students to create, test, and refine architectural designs involving the use of alternative energy and environmental awareness. Students will learn how to build efficient wind powered machines and discover how these machines can help reduce fuel consumption. Throughout the week, students will apply basic engineering design concepts to create, test, and refine a variety of machines and mechanical systems, including cars, planes, and cranes. Students will also learn the basics of fluid dynamics while constructing roller coasters and other vehicles, culminating in the construction of an incredibly fast air powered dragster that students get to keep at the end of the course. Students will also compete in groups to build the highest structure!
