In this class students will create one-of-a-kind, awesome art to wear. Paint a T-shirt, jeans or jacket with instructions on using fabric paint, textile design and color coordination. Next, knit or crochet a scarf, vest, tote bag or purse and learn to bead and embroider designs on the finished project. Bring your own clothes to paint! Introduction to Discovery Camp: The Wild World Introduction to Discovery Camp is a shorter, scaled-down version of a traditional week-long Discovery Camp session. This allows children to build confidence and independence while developing an appreciation of the natural world through science education, exploration, and the traditional fun of summer camp. Using MITs Scratch programming language, fundamental concepts will be taught so campers can start creating stories, games and animations and even try applying some of these skills to games like Minecraft. Well then investigate tricks of the trade for creating Lego stop animation movies so campers can make their very own flicks. The week ends with a culminating workshop day for students to tweak and expand existing projects. No previous experience necessary; just come with curiosity and readiness to have fun!
