Gain animal, plant, and environmental knowledge while having tons of fun in our local outdoor ecosystems around Stonington Harbor. Apply your new knowledge and become a Sound Super Hero as you take part in a student run wildlife fair and decide, formulate, and carry out an activity with your fellow classmates to help benefit the Sound and its wildlife. Use the ancient art of gyotaku to create a fish print on a T-shirt and enjoy the rush of boogie boarding and stand up paddle boarding. Final Summer 2016 Kid's Riding Camp - Georgetown, TX
Sign up now for our last riding camp of the summer for children ages 3 - 18. Camps are half days, and kids learn about safety first, equipment, horses and riding in our soft-sand enclosed and covered round pen and enclosed outdoor arena. Kid's are outside getting exercise in the sunshine and fresh air, learning a new skill, having fun, and gaining in self-confidence. What could be better? All classes taught by Eric Clarke, horseman and natural horsemanship clinician with 35+years experience as a professional horse and people trainer, assisted by several of his horsemanship apprentices. Class size is limited. All equpment and horses provided, except for boots (with a bit of a heel please; no sneakers) and helmets (no bicycle helmets). Siblings may share helmets as needed. Camp is half-days, 9 AM - Noon. Cost is $150 for the three day camp; current EquQuest horsemanship program students are FREE! Call Pat Gleason at 512-965-1380 to register and click "Going" here. JANUARY -Bobcats Academy (morning skills session for homeschooled/online school hockey players of any team) - Arcadia Ice Arena
Skills and Skating sessions at Arcadia Mon, Tues and Thurs 7:20AM-8:50AM for ALL youth hockey players who are homeschooled or online schooled regardless of school or hockey organization (example: if you are a peewee A player at Mission, homeschooled by your parents via chandler online prep you can still attend Bobcats Academy for morning skills sessions). Sessions must be paid monthly. Disclaimer***due to the increased cost of ice we can no longer offer free weds night sessions as part of the Academy package***. Session payments are for a full month and are non refundable except with a physicians note. There are no make up sessions for missed lessons available due to the nature of the program. 602-388-2112

This ensemble is intended for students with 1+ years of experience on a band instrument. The prerequisite for Concert Band is a Band Karate Black Belt or director approval. Performance opportunities will be balanced with the development of music skills. 206-524-7009

Receive professional tennis instruction in a fun group environment. Well cover the basics from proper footwork and grips to stroke production and movement. Basic skills including volley, forehand, backhand and serving will be taught through games and drills. For beginner through intermediate players. Supplies: Campers should bring their own tennis racket and water each day. All campers should arrive at camp with sunscreen already applied, as well as with additional sunscreen, as needed. Camp open to boys and girls entering grades 3 - 8 Instructor: Ryan Robinson, Amy Mc Neil and Michelle Robinson Enjoy the experience of running on Waterfords acclaimed Cross Country course at Hess-Hathaway Park. Under the tutelage of veteran teachers/coaches, boys and girls will learn the joy of an exercise program revolving around cross country running can bring with a group of running companions. Camp will be structured to fully include beginners as well as experienced runners and will include elements suitable to all campers. Camp includes a t-shirt and refreshments. Express yourself! with Nelli Shevelkina Become an artist for a week in our art studios – dive into extreme sketching, painting, collage and sculpting. Work with different art media and learn how to create some art materials from scratch. Enhance drawing and painting skills by working on projects from observation. Discover and discuss masterworks. Experiment with many media choices and ideas from your imaginations. Projects include portraits, figures, sketching architecture and landscape outdoors, creating mini murals, collage, and 3-D multi media fabrications. Note: Includes a field trip to the Yale Art Gallery to view artwork and learn about several art media and techniques. Fun with Metal with Connie Pfeiffer Make jewelry and mini-sculpture with copper sheet metal and wire to wear or hang. Stamp, fold, hammer, bend, cut, twist and even heat metal to create pendants, medallions and forms from nature such as pea pods and leaves. Students will explore using basic hand tools, especially hammers, mallets, cutters, files, pliers and torches (one-on-one with instructor) to create works in metal.
