Engineering Is Fun Grades 2-5 (Wednesday) - Janney Elementary School
Engineering Fun is an excellent hands on activity based STEM curriculum. Students learn basic concepts about Energy, Light, Motion and more. This class does not use games to engage kids in engineering/science concepts. Students learn thinking and reasoning skills needed for success. Engineering Fun engages children to apply what they know about science and math through hands on activities are based on real-world technologies and problems, they help children see how disciplines like math and science are relevant to their life. The Art and Science of Photography - Sycamore School
Instructor: Lauren Ditchley -- During this camp photographers explore the medium of photography in many forms. We will experiment with traditional methods of image making - Cyanotype prints, pinhole photography, black and white darkroom, as well as current techniques in digital photography and photoshop editing. Summer BLAST! - 3 weeks - Oakwood
For children entering 2nd-6th grade: SUMMER BLAST! at Oakwood is an afternoon program designed to engage children in enriching, entertaining, and educational activities, and runs from 1:30–4:30 pm. Children may enroll in Summer BLAST! even if theyre not enrolled in the morning Summer Arts Academy program. If a child is enrolled in the morning Summer Arts Academy program, he/she will have a supervised lunchtime from 12:45–1:30 pm each day, and will need to bring a lunch. During the first session of the afternoon the children will be divided by age into two groups and will rotate between the two classes offered that week. During the second session students choose between Sports Club, Book Club, or Tennis Club. Students may enroll in one, two or all three weeks. The classes during the first session change each week.
