Teen North African Music, Dance and Culture Camp - Nampa, ID
Travel to Northern Africa and the Middle-East, without the motion sickness or expensive flight. Learn about the music, dance and culture of the area of the world where Africa meets the Orient. It's a whole new world of music and dance! If you only have a Western Music Education, you are missing out on over three fourths of the world's music! Students will attend from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday, August 4th and 6th. Besides learning dance moves, students will make percussive instruments and learn to play several N. African Rhythms. Students will learn about the music and culture of this area of the world through music, dance, video, food and art. Teen Cooking Camp: Session 5 - Rochester, MN
Your West Circle Drive Hy-Vee is offering a series of cooking classes designed to teach teens (age 12-17) essential cooking skills! Each class will feature a different theme. Teens will be able to eat their creations at the end of the class. August 11th: Create your own recipe! Week 5- ESE- LEGO WeDo IStories - Eagle Springs Elementary School
TECH IT OUT- Robotics I-Stories or Interactive Stories is a hands-on minds on learning experience that enhances students reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through project-based learning and STEM Literacy. STEM literacy relates to a students ability to understand and apply concepts from science, technology, engineering and mathematics in order to solve complex problems. Campers will use LEGO WeDo to constructing their own stories with over 20 main characters models featuring working motors and sensors to choose from; code their models; and explore a series of cross-curricular, theme-based activities that develop their literacy skills of reading, writing, designing, speaking and listening. Come connect with the animals and learn what they like to do for fun! This exciting camp teaches the importance of enrichment. Enrichment is anything that encourages the animals to make choices, exhibit natural or species-appropriate behaviors. It also presents mental challenges for the animal, encourages physical activity/exercise and enhances their overall health and well-being. Our campers will discover what type of enrichment is best for each animal, create it and then watch the animal ambassador enjoy it! (if time allows, you can make your own take-home enrichment for the animals in your own backyard). Please bring a refillable drink container and a sack lunch. Snacks will be provided. Java Game Programming - The Digital Arts Experience
This program is geared towards students who are beginners or have limited knowledge in Java programming. An intro course that is a great start for older and younger students to begin programming. Students will begin to look at Java programming and creating their own games. These games can be an original idea or a re-imagining of a classic. This course will lay the foundation for all parts of computer programming that a student will encounter later in their education.
