LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Sewing Camps - Sewing Camp - Veterans Memorial - Recreation Center
Learn how to sew this summer! In this camp, you will learn how to use a sewing machine, how to read and layout a pattern, how to cut fabric and how to sew everything together. This class will be fun and very hands on - we will start sewing the first day! We will make pajama pants, a tote bag and a zippered bag. Patterns will be provided by the instructor. Dont have a sewing machine? Rental machines will be available for classroom use. A materials list will be provided one week before camp. Pre-teen Improv Summer Camp (Session 2) - Norfolk, VA
This camp is open to children ages 7 to 12. Students will explore the key elements of both long and short form improvisation. The children will play numerous improv games which will serve to develop and enhance their public-speaking, social, and team-building skills. This camp will be conducted in a non-judgmental environment where the students will build confidence, make friends, and most importantly… have fun. Snacks will be provided on a daily basis and there will be a pizza-party for lunch on Friday. The camp concludes on Saturday with all students performing in a graduation show on the stage of the Push Comedy Theater. Each student will receive a Push Comedy Theater T-shirt and be eligible to perform in the 5th Annual Norfolk Comedy Festival in late September 2016. We will have 3 sessions throughout the summer. Session1: July 11th - 15th, 9:30am to noon Session 2: August 1st - 5th, 9:30 to noon Session 3: August 22nd - 26th, 9:30 to noon These are all beginner level sessions, no experience is necessary. Tution is $200 for new students (includes a t-shirt), $190 for returning students.

FREE- Type 1 Diabetes Teen Camp - Cornville, AZ
JDRF has partnered together with Camp Soaring Eagle to offer a FREE CAMP to Type One Diabetic children ages 8-15 to come experience the healing power of laughter! CSE offers two camper weekends dedicated to T1D kids in a session for Teens and a session for Youth. Youth T1D camp is for kids 8-12 and Teen T1D Camp is for kids 13-15. The camper session runs from Friday-Sunday. CSE provides the campers with opportunity to learn about diabetes management and encourages independent health care. Campers with diabetes feel normal because they see all their peers with the same challenging diagnosis. CSE provides a balanced diet and menu with all carb counts for all meals. About Sign your child up for a fun filled week of cheerleading with the NYS Express Cheer Team and coaches. Farm Hands Sibling Week (AM Session) - Weir River Farm
The Farm Hands program is a great camp experience for kids that love to be outside working in the garden or learning how to care for our farm animals. Activities can vary from day to day because we work with the rhythm of the working farm. The sibling week was created a number of years back in response to feedback from parents that wanted their multi-aged children to attend together. You dont need to have a sibling or even a friend to register for sibling week, just be excited for making new friends of all ages. One of the most popular aspects of sibling week is that children are offered more choices of what activities to choose each day so they can create their own camp experience. Nature School- Session 5 - Chico Creek Nature Center
Nature School is a first learning experience in nature. It is a drop off program designed for Pre K, TK and Kindergartners. Young first graders may also enjoy this class. All children should be potty trained and ready for an experience away from their family. Our teachers are happy to help facilitate "goodbyes" as is often needed with this age. Children learn about nature, letters, numbers, colors and shapes through crafts, songs, games, animal visits and guided exploration of the park. The teacher is trained in and uses curriculum from Growing Up Wild that meets state standards in science, literacy, math, art and STEM. Each class has a different theme. For optimum learning a full year of participation is encouraged. Classes are broken into 6 Wednesday sessions. Limited to 16 students with a ratio of 1 teacher to 8 children.
