Positive Life Change
Although they mentioned "life changing" on their mission statement I though that was just advertising. It turns out this truly was a life changing summer for our daughter. She was also a sweet girl a little on the shy side. But this summer she seemed to blossom. She came home confident and eager to participate in activities at our church. Teen Lifeskills Camp - Pensacola, FL
The goal of the Teen Life Skills Camp is to prepare the youth for adulthood by teaching and building upon their life skills. They will spend two days in a warm and nurturing environment learning principles of manhood, woman hood, interpersonal communication skills, problem solving skills, team work, collaboration and culture competence. This event will start off at Deliverance Tabernacle Christian Center and then the learning environment will shift to Oak Grove Park on Naval Air Station Pensacola. During the course of the 3 day, 2 night camp, they will be apart of discussions: (the young men)the role and purpose of a man, leadership, teach them how to tie a neck tie and they will receive a tie. For the young ladies they will participate in a body image workshop that will include self image, hygiene and self respect. For more information and registration, please see the attached flyer.

These are the things far too many children hear on a regular basis, and a lot of these children are right here within our Lewis-Clark Valley and the surrounding area. These kids hear these things (and far worse than this) from their guardians, parents, and/or other family members. Many also deal with sexual and physical abuse, come from broken homes, and have been neglected or abandoned. Others still have bounced from place to place all their lives and don't know what it is like to have a family, a home, a safe environment, or even to just be a kid. There are children who have taken on the role of a parent to their sibling(s) at a young age (some as early as 4 or 5 years old) because their parent(s)/guardian(s) aren't present either mentally or physically. It is recorded that annually, 3.6 million cases of child abuse, neglect or abandonment are reported in America, and one of these victims dies every six hours...

Joe Russell Patriot Wrestling Camp - Joe Russell Patriot Wrestling Camp
2016 JOE RUSSELL PATRIOT WRESTLING CAMPS George Mason University Head Wrestling Coach Joe Russell is gearing up for wrestling camps. Camps include 3 commuter Folkstyle Technique Camps July 25-29 (high school only), August 1-5 (ages 6 - 18) and August 8-12 (ages 6 - 12) and a Parent/Child Family Camp August 5-6. The 2016 staff will be headlined by the Mason coaching staff and wrestlers. Coach Russell brings in outstanding credentials as both an athlete and coach. Coach Russell has THREE NCAA national championship rings from the University of Minnesota as an assistant coach. Patriot camps will not only be beneficial to the competitors but for coaches to learn and interact with one of the most knowledgeable coaches in our profession. Camp will be held in the Field House on George Mason Universitys campus. We will be offering top-notch technique stemming from the Patriot wrestling system along with one-on-one interaction with Patriot wrestlers and coaches. Our GOAL is to provide the campers with a meaningful experience where they grow as a wrestler and a person. Children learn literacy skills through songs, poems, literacy centers, small and whole group activities, and read-alouds. Children engage in play and activities that are related to alphabet knowledge, phonological awareness, print knowledge, comprehension, reading and writing. The core of our literacy program was created at the Bank Street College of Education in New York. Meets twice per week.
