Combining craft with technology is a fun way to express interests and personality and the possibilities are endless. Through this camp, participants will sew with conductive thread and use LED lights to create a functioning piece of technology! Instructor: John Leddy "Summertime fun begins at Spartan Quest, (formerly known as Sports Camp). This class will run for all 10 weeks of summer school giving your camper a consistent, exciting summer daycamp experience. We will spend the mornings doing fun things on campus like; playing games, flying kites, dodge ball, hide-n-seek, flag football, basketball, video games, etc…. Championship football is built on FUNdamentals. This non-contact full day camp will offer a practice atmosphere while focusing on fundamentals and overall football safety for athletes preparing to play either flag or contact football. In addition to a team practice setting, daily individual teaching is provided for athletes to focus on their positions of choice. Afternoons will be filled with competitive Flag Football games and other fun team building activities. The camp is under the direction of Mark Modeste - Assistant Head Coach at Sacred Heart Prep. Prep runners will enhance their running and speed development at the Brebeuf Jesuits Track and St. Vincent Health Field, and also on one of the few, true Cross Country courses in the state. The running workshop is designed to help ALL athletes in ALL sports improve their speed, agility, and coordination by doing plyometric drills, speed chutes, bungee, and drills designed to increase propulsion, responses, and rate of stride. Prep runners will conclude their week with a track meet, where all families are invited and encouraged to attend. Head Cross Country/Track Coach Karl Knerr 74, has 25 years of experience in Cross Country and 30 years in Track & Field. He led the Braves to 3 consecutive State Finals in cross country. The clinic is a great opportunity for prospective student-athletes to improve as players and to learn what its like to be a college athlete. Youll also get the chance to meet head coach Matt Poskay, his assistants, and the Seahawk Lacrosse players who will also be working with you during the event. During the morning session, participants will work closely with Wagner coaches and players in order to further develop skills that will help them with both their high school and club lacrosse programs. During lunch, there will be an information session where participants will learn what its like to balance academics and athletics at the Division I level. Finally, during the afternoon field session, participants will have the opportunity to play and compete against other future college lacrosse players. Participants must bring all necessary equipment, including a mouth guard. Please bring a bag lunch as well. Water will be provided.
