Kid's Summer Art Camp at SCGA: Aug 1 - Aug 5 - Sumter, SC
Mon, Aug 1, 2016 - Fri, Aug 5, 2016 Summer Art Camp at the SCGA Morning Classes: 9:00am - 12:00pm: Fun in the Mud (Ages 4-7) In this beginner’s pottery class students will be introduced to different kinds of clay, the pottery wheel, a variety of hand-building skills and colorful glazes. We will draw inspiration for our creations from children’s stories as we combine art, storytelling and play in this unique class offering. What I Really Want to do is Paint! (Ages 4-7) Miss Ashley will work with students to develop basic painting skills and a love for painting, along with concepts like the color wheel, line, texture and value in this foundational painting class perfect for our youngest artists. This class is designed to help prepare students for future art classes and to give them hands-on experience with paint media and tools while having a blast squishing, squirting and smushing paint onto canvas. Artistic Assemblage (Ages 9 & up) Local artist Trisha King will guide this set of projects in which students will use stretched canvases and canvas boards as bases for their assemblages and will refinish a picture frame. The Jarmelle Jo-Jo Jones AddnoE Youth Leadership Camp - Memphis, TN
This is a Leadership Camp that will be held on the campus of Christian Brothers University. The students will reside on campus during this week and will partake in leadership exercises, classes, and community service projects each day. We have leaders from around the city that will be in attendance each day to meet each student and to ensure they are in the know about what is going on in the city. The students will have homework each day and will go through a rigorous course designed to mold the leaders of tomorrow. CIRRUS MINOR Battling for a slot on SUMMER CAMP 2016! - Des Moines, IA
$5 gets you admission and one vote at this special ALL AGES event, where 4 regional bands (including CIRRUS MINOR) will compete to win a slot on the SUMMER CAMP MUSIC FESTIVAL in Chilicothe, Illinois on Memorial Day Weekend; this would have us playing alongside Mudcrutch (with Tom Petty), Umphrey's McGee, Fishbone, STS9, moe., George Clinton and P-Funk.... and so many more! All aspects of volleyball are taught through drills and exercises that focus on passing, setting, hitting, and serving. This co-ed program is designed for the beginning and intermediate player. Our staff will assist campers in developing fundamental skills through game-speed drills and daily scrimmages aimed at developing the whole player. Great Outdoors Mini Camp - EcoAdventures
Great Outdoors Mini Camp June 27th-June 30th Its back to nature in this camp and we mean literally! If it has to do with nature and the great outdoors we are all over it! These days kids seem to be losing touch with nature, so in this camp we are going to bring them back to the wild side. Kids will leave civilization behind as we head out into the great unknown to learn all about nature and surviving the outdoors. Campers will get the ins and outs of navigating trails, compass use, telling time by the sun, identify animal tracks, interact daily with animals, make fossils, build a drift shelter, survival skills, make Native American crafts, outdoor cooking (more than just smores) and so much more. Adventure Day Camp (Aug 8-12, Grades K-5) - Medinah Park District
Experienced staff will provide new and exciting adventures each day! Campers will participate in activities including group games, crafts, songs, nature hikes, sports, swimming and weekly field trips. Each week will be a different theme, with activities and entertainers. Every camper will receive a camp shirt. Please make sure to note shirt size on registration form.
