Shooting, Scoring, & Conditioning Camp The full spectrum of the RMHS developed stickhandling progression from basic dribbling to advanced puck control concepts such as puck protection and creating space will be the foundation for this camp. Also covered in depth during the stickhandling portion will be passing lanes, vision, play away from the puck, support, and the proper execution of advanced fakes and dekes. All conditioning drills will be based on the European Training Method of incorporating pucks into all skating drills to ensure proper puck control skill and habit development. Fundamental knowledge of how to properly train ones body for athletic competition will be discussed, stressing proper work to rest ratios, hydration, and optimal physical conditioning. Advanced powerskating drills will also be included, focusing on speed and power development while conditioning. ATTENTION GOALTENDERS - Every RMHS camp will offer professional goaltending instruction from one of our professional goaltending coaches. This is our 3rd ANNUAL YOUTH RALLY HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED. The Youth Rally is open to all ages. It is once again an overnight event. We need adult volunteers to cook and supervise the cabins. Campers 8 and under are welcome with a parent on site. Lessons begin at 7 pm Friday night. We will be looking at Christianity through the lenses of our favorite campfire songs. Come prepared to do some serious singing. Dinner WILL NOT be served. EAT BEFORE YOU COME ON FRIDAY NIGHT. Snacks will be provided after campfire. Breakfast will be at 8 AM with the first lesson beginning at 9 AM. Lunch will be served at noon. The last activity will be done at 2 PM. Everyone needs to leave by 3 PM.

As of 10/26, this session is SOLD OUT. Sign up for Track 1 Session 4 soon! Elementary Engineers Theres nothing truly elementary about the engineering skills that these future builders will acquire – not to mention honing their problem solving skills. It all begins with using KNEX to create our simple machines. Future engineers will learn to problem solve as they build a variety of amazing simple mechanisms as well as be encouraged to build their own discoveries. The possibilities are endless! Call it physics! Call it STEM! The kids will call it AWESOME! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flyin Fierce Ever attempted to fold that perfect airplane, only to realize it was a better wad of paper? Ever had that urge to fold up that quiz that you didnt do so well on and send it ripping across the room, only to realize youd probably end up sitting in detention for your fine flight! Well have no fear, join Club Scientific for Flyin Fierce where it will be expected that youll fold a phenomenal flying machine and if you cant, then well show you how. Girls Dance - Sanford Day Camp
Michele Buglio will be the instructor for our Dance program. Michele has been our Dance teacher for a number of years. She has her studio called Dance HDC at the Shoppes at Louviers. Micheles enthusiasm and energy should result in an exciting camp for your child. Dancers will be taught the basics in leaps and turns, ballet, theatre, modern, hip-hop, and Zumba. ----------- LOCATION: Sanford School. Please drop your child off at the Sports Center at 8:45 a.m. Pick up will be in the same location at 3:15. All dancers will be transported in the morning to a professional dance studio for their dance instruction. ----------- WHAT TO BRING: Light-weight, loose fitting shirts, shorts, socks and sneakers. Specialty dance shoes are optional, but encouraged. Water Bottle Bathing suit and towel for free swim in the afternoon. Lunch, unless purchasing from Camp. ($35.00/per week) A drink will be provided for all by the Camp. Sunflower Basketball Camp - Ages 6-7 - Olathe Community Center
This is a fundamentally-based camp for boys and girls ages 6-13; focusing on skill development through daily drill periods, contests, and competitive games. Instruction is provided by High School coaches and current and former college basketball players. Camp Director, Brett McFall, is an Olathe South High School grad and 1997 Mr. Kansas Basketball. Brett was a 4-year player at the University of Wyoming (1997-2001) and played professionally in Europe and the USA (2002-2004). He has 13 years of coaching experience and is currently the head coach at Shawnee Mission South High School. Each participant will receive a camp t-shirt. The Chicago Bulls are coming to The Community House! This camp will teach the latest techniques in ball handling, passing, shooting, and rebounding while also teaching children how to be student-athletes and great teammates. Every participant will receive top flight instruction from our professional Bulls/Sox Academy coaches who have learned from the Chicago Bulls coaching staff. We provide a fun and safe environment for children to learn the game, as well as teach life lessons such as discipline, respect, and sportsmanship. Each participant will receive a replica autographed photo of Derrick Rose, camp t-shirt, and personal scouting report. Your child will not only have fun, but will be given important tools to become a better basketball player.
