Children learn math concepts through games, songs, learning centers, whole group activities and everyday math related experiences and problem solving. Children develop number recognition, counting skills and learn to use numbers and language to compare quantities and solve problems. Sorting, patterning, measurement, graphing, shapes and number formation are included in the number sense curriculum. Clark Youth Theatre Summer Camp Sign Ups - Tulsa, OK
Clark Youth Theatre will hold a series of summer Theatre Camps at the Henthorne Performing Arts Center. Enrollment begins Saturday, April 2nd at 8:30am. Each two-week camp includes classes on acting, dancing, and other performance skills. This is a great opportunity for children ages 8-14 who are interested in theatre and performing arts. Campers must have completed the second grade. The cost is $225 per session. The remaining dates for summer Theatre Camp are: Session 1: June 6-17 Session 2: June 20-July 1 Session 3: July 5-15 Session 4: July 18-29 Session 5: Aug 1-12 Classes are 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. The camp also offers early drop-off at 7:30 a.m. and late pick-up until 5:30 p.m. for an additional $25 fee. Under the expert instruction of Courcy Magnus and the talented Obvious Choice coaching team, Basketball Club participants will hone essential skills, such as shooting, passing, dribbling and defense. Game concepts, including identifying opponents strengths and weaknesses and understanding basic defensive strategies, will also be incorporated. In addition to developing players conditioning, flexibility and speed, Coach C. will work with players to build self-confidence and physical endurance while strengthening teamwork and sportsmanship skills. 215-951-2384

The Camp Shalom LIT Program (formerly counselor in training) has been redesigned to allow teens a multifaceted experience. The program contains three core components: leadership training, hands-on counselor skills guidance, and fun, social programming. Each two-week session will provide teens the opportunity to experience every facet of working at a summer camp from interacting directly with campers to shadowing activity specialists. Under the supervision of the LIT Assistant Director, LITs will meet as a group regularly to attend workshops specially planned for them. Each LIT will have the opportunity to become CPR and First Aid Certified. Burlesque is a celebration of femininity. Women of all ages come together for a fun-filled journey into this incredible art form, ultimately empowering their creative, sensual, feminine beings. Telluride Theatres own Sasha Sullivan and Melissa Harris, who have been teaching burlesque classes for four years, are excited take new students on an eight-week journey into the world of burlesque. They will start with the basics – the history, dance moves, striptease, creating a character, and owning your space. Students will develop their very own burlesque character and walk away with a full routine, a set of pasties, and a portrait. At the close of the class, some students will be chosen to perform at BURLESQUE, a live variety show on the Sheridan Opera House stage at the end of March, a benefit for Telluride Theatre. Students will use the Lego Mindstorms EV3 elements to program their robots to solve a series of challenges everyday. They will build using motors of different power and experiment with touch, ultrasonic, gyro, and color sensor to play fun games such as hockey and sumo wrestling. Lessons will cover topics in computer science, technology, engineering, math, and science. Campers will learn fundamentals of programming blocks such as loops, conditional operations, and the use of variables to store sensor values; and will learn how to program remote control, create parallel programming, and use computers, Bluetooth, and other technologies to connect with their robots. After mastering the basics of Lego EV3 building and programming, students will be immersed in a series of challenging Mars missions: launch the satellite, collect rocks, activate communications, save the robot, secure the power supply, and return to base safely.
