Lacrosse (boys) - Seattle Preparatory School
Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in Washington. The Seattle Prep lacrosse camp promises to be the premier camp in Seattle for 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys of all skill and experience levels. The fast-paced camp will feature skill work, station work and scrimmages with a player to coach ratio of one to five, ensuring campers of all levels receive the attention to maximize their experience. Skills Emphasized: Core mechanics of shooting, passing and ground balls - shooting on the run and with time/space - attacking the goal and dodging - individual and team defense - face-off specialization - goalie coaching - game play. Note: All players supply their own lacrosse equipment (helmet, stick, gloves and pads, etc.). Head lacrosse coach, Rich Stearns, grew up playing lacrosse in Scarsdale, NY and went on to play at Northwestern University for four years. Last year, Coach Stearns took over as the varsity boys lacrosse head coach at Prep. Junior Summer Camp (Ages 10-16) 10AM-3PM - Grantwood Golf Course
The golf camps at Grantwood provide a safe and fun atmosphere for juniors of all skill levels to play golf, build friendships and create lifelong memories. Our camps are staffed by PGA Professionals and instructors who focus on all important aspects of the game including putting, chipping, full swing, on-course play and rules and etiquette. Registration fee includes all golf fees, range balls, refreshments, lunch daily, prizes and more! This is a great opportunity for the aspiring avid junior golfer to learn many new aspects to improve scores and enhance their enjoyment of the game. Girls Softball Day Camp - Costello Sports Complex
The camp will focus on learning and establishing fundamental skills in all facets of softball. There will be both individual and team instruction throughout the weekend. We will have fun and exciting drills that will incorporate softball skills for all levels in attendance. Animal Trainer/Zoo Keeper Camp (In Depth) July 13th & July 27th 9am – 4pm $95 Ages 11+ Led by one of our animal keepers, this in-depth experience is for the older students who are serious about learning about animal husbandry and medical care of animals. Space is limited for this course as students will get to tour around the facility and learn specific information and needs of our animal collection. Students will get to not only encounter animals in our behind the scenes animal room, but to assist with animal care, food prep, cleaning. The camp will get to put together an animal enclosure for one of our animals by working together as a team. Students learn to train an animal and even make an enrichment toy for our animals.
