For children entering 5th or 6th grade: Each day, students will attend six periods with a fifteen-minute recess and snack after third period. They will attend four intellectually stimulating and fun-filled classes including: Brain Booster, Adventures in Art, Science Shakedown, and Fun and Fitness. For the remaining two periods, children may choose between On Stage, a performing arts class which spans two periods, or a Keyboarding and Wild About Writing option. Because our classes are small groups, instructors can gauge each students skill level and assign projects appropriately. All students will receive their own DAE 8GB flash drive to store their work on and take home! Watching movies is awesome but how do you make them? This class introduces students to the basic concepts of creating movies! Students will learn composition techniques to create interesting shots, how to tell a good story with clever editing and how to plan out their own project. In this mixed-genre class, students have the chance to combine poetry, fiction and comics to tell epic stories about themselves and their world. They will explore new literary techniques and poetic forms while developing skills in written, oral, and visual storytelling.
