Summer Camps in Frankfort Springs, PA
LATEST CAMPS NEWS: After School Hoops - Valle Verde Elementary
Instructor: One on One Basketball () Room: Blacktop After School Hoops® is a weekday afternoon basketball program for aspiring young players. The one hour instructional sessions combine fundamental skills instruction with organized team competition with the goal of providing an enjoyable and educational after school athletic event. Developing players benefit by improving their individual skills such as passing, dribbling, shooting, rebounding, and defending while, at the same time, learning how to work within the framework of a team. Boys and girls of all skill levels are encouraged to join. One of the many merits of After School Hoops® is that it provides school children with an organized after school event at which they can learn, socialize, and most of all, have fun. Parents and teachers often express concern that idle and unsupervised after school hours provide too many negative temptations for their children. Using athletics as the vehicle, After School Hoops® provides children with an opportunity to improve their overall physical fitness, develop sportsmanship and athletic integrity, and gain an understanding of the game of basketball. (7 sessions) 415-314-1749

Youth Wilderness Survivors Side of the Mountain camp description & registration Info: http://www.wolfcollege.com/youth/summer-overnight-camps/wilderness-survivors-side-of-the-mountain/ Adult Wilderness Survival Training & Trek description and registration Info: http://www.wolfcollege.com/expeditions/summer/wilderness-survival-training-and-trek/ Wilderness Survival has become synonymous with the over-dramatized survival programs on television. While some of these programs do provide valuable advice, most of them are filled with poor choices that, if followed, will get you injured or killed in a real emergency. Without proper training, separating the fact from fiction can be a difficult task. Our primary focus this week is to teach participants the practical skills that will save them in a true emergency. While a number of Traditional Skills will be introduced, our goal this week is to provide participants with a pragmatic skill set. For instance, spending five hours building a lean-to when it gets dark in 20 minutes is not a practical choice. Trying to build a bow-drill fire kit from scratch without a knife and without properly seasoned wood in the damp environment of the Pacific Northwest is rarely practical. Although those types of skills will be demonstrated, we will challenge you to perfect the basics first – like carrying a small fire steel and a couple of cotton balls...
