Marlena Vendemia - Bio Marlena Vendemia worked in the corporate fitness setting before earning her M.S. in Exercise Physiology from The Pennsylvania State University. She currently holds a position as a Penn State fitness instructor working with pregnant women as part of the Healthy Moms Research Study. Most recently, Marlena earned her 200-hour registered yoga teacher certification. She found her yoga practice as a stay at home mother to her two small children. Marlena was drawn to pursue this certification due to the benefits she found through her own yoga practice. Her yoga practice has allowed her to find space, connection and possibility through the physical experience, things she hopes to help other students find as well. Her goal is to bring classes filled with truth, authenticity, love and fun to the State College community. In addition to teaching yoga at The PYP Studio, State College, Marlena also serves on the school board for Our Lady of Victory Preschool and on the advisory board for Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, University Park Campus. Kids Winter Art Camp: Mixed-Media Masks! - Bellingham, WA
In this winter break art class, we'll imagine that we are in a warm tropical place with palm trees, wild birds singing, and sandy beaches. To inspire our imagination, we’ll learn about the French post-Impressionist artist Paul Gauguin, the location of Tahiti, and a brief history of Tikis. Tiki masks actually have a long, rich history in Polynesian culture. The Tiki masks were originally hand-carved wooden masks that were used to symbolize deities, give protection, and increase luck. We'll create our own colorful and textured papers with paints with a variety of brushes, and different items to make texture, in mixed-media format, then use the painted papers to create our Tiki masks. Kid's Culinary Day Camp at LeTourneau Christian Center - Rushville, NY
Kid's Culinary Day Camp at LeTourneau is a wonderful opportunity for kids ages five to thirteen to experience the culinary arts in an exciting and safe Christian environment. Kids Culinary Day Camp includes all of the following exciting aspects of the culinary arts: an introduction to the culinary arts, food safety, cooking, food tastings, crafts and games. We also offer a Bible Study time to explore how God uses "food" to teach us eternal truths. Kids ages five to eight will meet Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am until 11:30 am. Kid's do Strollfit - Norman, OK
Second annual kids do Strollfit class. All kids are welcome to bring their baby stroller, lawn mower, anything they can push and they will do their own Strollfit class. Prizes will be given for best decorated vehicle/push item. I will assign older kids an exercise to teach to the other kids (generally 4 and up). Moms, please help them and practice with them. If you have a younger one that would like to teach, let me know and I will add them. Don't want to exclude any who wants to teach!! Be sure you bring your camera. Outdoor Explorers Camp for Ages 9-12 - Mt. Adams Institute
Outdoor Explorers Camp is a Cascade Mountain School day program that introduces students to the fun and excitement of outdoor adventures in the Trout Lake Valley. Students will get to explore an underground cave, build forts out of natural materials, hike to a secret natural spring and more. The entire camp will be spent outside! Parents are welcome to join in on the exploring! Day camps for ages 9-12 will be held Monday through Thursday from 1-4 pm each day. Drama Advanced-Prepared to be challenged by the likes of Shakespeare, Mamet and other influential playwrights in our Advanced Drama Class. This class will delve into the techniques used by famous teachers such as Stanislavsky, Chekov and Boal, to truly hone their skills in bringing characters to life on the stage. Please contact Jay Goodlett to confirm that you have the required training to participate. Step into the role of a lifetime and learn the secrets of the Dramatic Arts! Using traditional and modern acting techniques, we will explore the dynamics of drama through the use of scene work. Your teaching artist will assign scenes from both contemporary and classical theatrical plays/musicals as you learn to expand your talents through the help of others.
