Teen Sewing Camp: Staple Dress - Lake Charles, LA
The summer is the perfect time for your teen to learn how to sew clothes! The Staple Dress is a fun, beginner first clothing project. In this workshop, we will teach your teen how to read and cut a pattern, and sew a dress of their very own! A basic knowledge of sewing is required for this class. July 21st-22nd: 1pm-5pm (8 hours total) $65 includes pattern and elastic thread. Campers should bring fabric (see chart) and coordinating thread. Campers can bring a snack if desired. Ages 13 and up

April 19-May 17: Spring Mountain Biking - Mountain Kids!
Whether you are a novice or an intermediate rider, grab your mountain bike and get tuned up for some riding adventures! Learn how to ride single-track,trail etiquette for mountain bikers, smart riding and have lots of fun! We will meet at the La Tierra trails and ride from 3:45-5:30. Participants need a bike, helmet, and extra tube, water and a snack. 505-699-6230
Algebra Bridge Class - TRINITY ACADEMY
This class is for the student who has completed Algebra I and wants to reinforce those skills before entering Geometry or Algebra II. There will be particular emphasis on the second semester Algebra I concepts that typically cause students difficulty. Items covered will include the following: solving and rearranging equations, slope, writing equations of lines, solving systems of equations, simplifying exponents, multiplying binomials (FOIL) reducing radical expressions, and factoring. Students are expected to take notes, work on in-class assignments, and should be prepared to complete some assignments at home. The purpose is to build a super car powered by more than one source of energy. This can be one crazy looking vehicle. We provide you with many materials for that dynamic vehicle that you will build. Also get to build a Egg Drop Car. The purpose is to build a gravity vehicle that can cushion a raw egg as the car holding the egg is dropped from a high height. We provide you with the material to cushion the fall. You have to be creative. In these three challenges in one workshop, you will learn about Laws of Motion, Energy, Air Pressure, Friction, Lift, Speed and Acceleration.
