The Childrens Tree Montessori School was founded in 1995 to provide children and their parents an alternative to public sch ool education. We offer a nurturing, child-centered environment where children can develop independence, respect--both for themselves, others and the world we live in, and a lifelong love of learning. The Childrens Tree is the only Montessori school on the Connecticut Shoreline with both primary (preschool ages 3-6) and elementary (ages 6-12) programs. Students come from all over - Old Saybrook, Clinton, Westbrook, Chester, Old Lyme, East Lyme, Essex and Middletown, to name a few. We are proud to offer every student an individualized workplan, which is based on their interests and needs. We invite you to help shake off the deep winter doldrums by joining us for a fantastical event for the dicer, strategist, gamer, and lover of shiny things in all of us! Fimbulwinter might be kept at bay if we show how much we enjoy each others' company while we play and make merry all through the wintery day and into the night! Classes for period games will be taught throughout the day, and yes, we are looking for folks to teach their favorite period dice, bone, board, card, chance,and other games! The Cuil Cholium Game Library will be present, with multiple boards for Nine, Six, and Three Man Morris, Checkers, Chess, Mancala,etc as well as binders with rules and instructions for all these games and more.

Combine the best of standup paddle boarding with kayaking to paddle your way around the warm waters of Little Narragansett Bay. Take an adventure outside the harbor for a day of surfing on Rhode Island Beaches. Test your core strength, balance and fitness in this paddling adventure. Challenge yourself with new skills, play SUP & Yak games, and enjoy the company of friends while exploring our local waters. Classes will combine stretching and fitness with fun and adventure. Includes: stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, surfing & a boat ride 860-535-9362
Thrive Art Camp: Space Odyssey - Villa Academy
All systems are go as we travel to infinity and beyond! Come and meet the locals- green skin, three eyes and a nifty antenna. Well be exploring the solar system in our custom made rockets, complete with all the gadgets and power to reach the stars. Parrie Haynes Ranch Your child will get to enjoy fishing, a nature walk, archery, arts and crafts, horse care, field games, and lunch out at Parrie Haynes Ranch. This trip is for students 8 years old and above. We will be departing BCYC no later than 9:00 am. Please have our child dropped off by 8:30 am in a red shirt and tennis shoes or hiking boots. Please no sandals or flip flops. Make sure they are wearing socks as well. Lunch will be included in this trip. It would be a good idea to send them with a small, light weight back pack/ bag with a water bottle and sunscreen to re-apply throughout the day.
