Teen Camp Service Project - Beautify Chinatown! - undefined, undefined
It's that time of year again!This is the first in our series of Teen Camp service projects for those of you who may need financial assistance in order to go to camp. You must complete this project if you're going to need a half or full scholarship. Don't know if you need a scholarship? Well, even if you have an inkling that you might need one, you should be there. But this project is also open to all, so if you just want to help out, join us! The project will involve cleaning out and sprucing up the public planters along Wentworth Avenue and Cermak Road in Chinatown. The project will begin at 9 AM and end around 1 PM. Do you enjoy playing games or creating pictures on the computer? Interested in computer science? Join Miss Neuss and Mrs. Wilkinson for a week of computer programming, and learn to write code. You will strengthen your problem-solving skills, logic, and creativity. What is coding? When you write code, you are telling the computer exactly what to do with simple step-by-step commands. The end result can be in the form of a picture, a game, an animated video, or even an app. Come explore a variety of programming websites to learn how to write code. 6159487005.0

Outdoor Painting Adventure - Main Campus
Enjoy learning how to paint outside, En Plein Air, with Harding Middle School Art teacher Amanda Penecale. We will learn how to prepare our materials, take field notes, and paint on location. The camp includes a nice field sketchbook. Campers will create studies with colored pencils in their sketchbooks and then make finished paintings using opaque watercolors. We will remain on Hardings campus and we will study the trees, the stream, and the architecture. 6159487005.0

Woodworking II with Rick Jacobsen - The Philadelphia School
Bring your creativity, enthusiasm, and community spirit as we spend a week immersed in woodworking! Campers will learn about a variety of tools and techniques as they turn original project ideas into reality. Students will also participate in a service project partnering with students at the St. Aquinas Center in South Philly. Possible projects may include constructing a stool, a box, a bookshelf, birdhouse, musical instrument, a game, and more! Campers will work individually and collaboratively to plan, measure, cut, build, and decorate their projects using basic hand tools. Safety and proper use of protective eyewear will be stressed at all times, as campers work with saws, drills, chisels, hammers, and screwdrivers. Woodworking experience is not required; all that is needed is a desire to learn new skills and have fun! Early drop off is available at no additional cost from 8:00am-9:00am. Welcome to the first week of Camp Kensington where we will be exploring the best of Europe! Where will we stop along the way? Camp Hope Volunteer Application - Camp Hope of East TN
If you would like to volunteer at Camp Hope of East TN this summer, please complete this online application. By default, you will be added to the "Waitlist" once your background check has been completed and approved, you will be "Registered" for the session. This system is designed to streamline the volunteer application and screening process. You can apply for as many positions and camp sessions as you like, however, you will be contacted by the camp director, Kraig Otto, upon approval of your background check. You will be able to determine along with Kraig how, where, and when you can serve as a volunteer at Camp Hope. You must be at least 16 years old to use this application system, however, if you are under 18, please contact Krag directly upon completion of the application for further interview.
