This session includes: speed/ agility, field session, functional training, small sided games, 11 vs 11, indoor session. Campers should sign-in at 8:00 am on the field. Campers should bring their own lunch, or money for lunch. Campers should bring a ball, shin guards, cleats/indoor shoes (tennis shoes), and a water bottle. What is Youth Councils? Youth Councils is a three day retreat specifically for Jr. High, High School and college age youth to be challenged and strengthened in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Who can attend Youth Councils? We have two tracks to set up so that we can tailor everything to the specific needs of your youth. To attend the Jr. High Track, youth must be in 6th, 7th or 8th grade by April 10, 2015. In order to be in the High School Track, youth need to be in 9th grade-age 25 by that same date. When is Youth Councils 2015? Youth Councils 2015 is being held from April 10-12, 2015 at Wonderland Camp & Conference Center. What is the theme for Youth Councils 2015? Rock Springs 4-H Center in Junction City, KS. It is about 2 - 2.5 hours away from Kansas City. Transportation will be provided, Insha'Allah. (Please see details below.) WHO MAY ATTEND THE CAMP? Young youth boys and girls ages 10-18 only. WHAT IS THE COST TO ATTEND THE CAMP? The cost is $120 per child by July 20th midnight. After July 20th, the cost will go up to $140/per child. Registration space is limited! WHEN IS THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER? For the early registration discount, the deadline to register is by Friday, July 20th. After July 20th, the prices will go up to $140. Art Lounge is an amazing program that helps build your knowledge, as well as your portfolio. Explore the studio of a local artist to gain inspiration and insight. Learn the basics of creating a blog to showcase your work and inspire others. Find out what it really takes to get into a college art program and succeed. Watkins Mill Nature Center - EcoAdventures
Wednesday, July 20th 9-4pm, $80 (ages 6-11) *limited to 13 due to van space Watkins Mill Nature Camp: We have an exciting day lined up for campers at the Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro. Campers will visit the Watkins Nature Center for an hour interpretive program on birds of prey. Live animals on display include insects, amphibians, reptiles and birds of prey. The nature center also features indoor and outdoor ponds, a songbird feeding area, a butterfly/hummingbird garden, composting area, an outdoor nest box exhibit, and a squirrel gym that showcases the parks squirrel population. Campers will pack a picnic lunch and have time play on the storybook themed playground. After lunch, we will visit the Old Maryland Farm, an agricultural educational farm open to the public. Its agricultural exhibits, livestock, and display gardens provide a farming experience to visitors. Students explore electronics, coding, design and fashion as they create wearable technology. Theyll design clothing, interactive toys, and accessories that incorporate advanced electronic technologies. Design a shirt that integrates programming and sensors to monitor your heart rate, a wristband that tracks how many steps taken or calories burned, or light up shoes. Once you understand the basics of circuit design the possibilities are endless. Take home cutting edge gadgets that bring together craft, electronics, and programming. Double up and sharpen up all of your skills with this 5 day FULL DAY sessions of mini camp. Each day there is a focus on a different skill. Attend all week and you get to work on every aspect of the game of volleyball in a fun and competitive environment. Campers attending this camp will experience different drills from the morning session to the afternoon session. This camp is designed for the beginner as well as intermediate volleyball players. For grades entering 3rd all the way up to 9th. Pizza will be provided in between sessions to all campers. Snacks for sale. Bring a lunch if you wish. Build confidence and coordination to the tunes of Frozen, Tangled, The Lion King, and more! Afternoon Only (1:00 - 4:00 pm) Behind the Curtains of The Sky is Falling- The art of Stage Craft will take over the next week on Second St. This week we will be working closely with the cast of The Sky is Falling to prepare their costumes and set for the show on July 22 and 23.
