Canvas Creations Camp - Matthews Community Center
This fun and instructional camp provides a fundamental technical approach to making representational painting on canvas using acrylic paints. Projects focus on composition, observation, drawing, color mixing, paint application techniques, chiaroscuro concept, and critique. Junior Staff (girls entering grades 11-12 or recent high school grad in Fall 2016 who have been an AIDE) - Huddart Park
JUNIOR STAFF (JULs and JALs) Girls entering 11th grade or older, but under 18 by the first day of camp. Please note that girls should register as Adult Staff member if 18 or older as of July 18, 2016. If you will not turn 18 until AFTER July 18, 2016, please register as Junior Staff. No camper fee is required for Junior Staff, but there is a fee of $30 for any Junior Staff member who is not currently a registered Girl Scout. - Must be entering grade 11 or higher - Has completed AIT training or equivalent* - Has been an AIDE for 2 years, plus 1 year as an LIT, or an AIDE for 3 years * If equivalent, would need to submit an application verifying training & experience working with children and accompanied by three references. Shoot, jump, run and score your way to a fun summer camp experience. This camp is a fun for all ages! Each week we will play a variety of outdoor sports designed to advance basic skills and knowledge of all sports activities for the campers. This class also helps campers to learn good sportsmanship while learning about the games, and score of the sport. Theres also indoor board games they get to play and learn from. Have your child bring a friend and tell them to get ready to play! Woodworking - PM - Woodworking
Learn a new skill and develop a new hobby this summer! Each camper will have the opportunity to work with a variety of tools and materials and every boy will be provided personal guidance while working on two to three individual projects during this special one-week tutorial session. A variety of wood project ideas and wood species will be offered. Possible projects may include constructing a bookshelf, birdhouse, wooden clock, jigsaw puzzle and carving a bowl or candleholder on a wood lathe. Woodworking experience is not required, only a desire to learn new skills. This specialty camp came into being at the request of campers and parents and has limited enrollment available for instructional purposes. We have envisioned this workshop to have the following goals: 1. To provide a hands-on course that initiates the learning of a new skill during the summer and the development of a lifelong hobby. 2. To learn basic carpentry skills and the proper use of a variety of tools. 3. To encourage pride in ones work and craftsmanship through projects that a boy wants to take home. This camp serves as an opportunity for participants to receive instruction from the coaches, players and alumni of Seattle Prep. We all share a passion for basketball and we look forward to including your daughter as a member of our team. Go Panthers!
