LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Camp Houston Levee (CITs) - Houston Levee Park
Is your child too old for camp but still likes to have a little fun? Camp Houston Levee is seeking Counselors-In-Training for this years summer camp. Requirements include: * Must be at least 14 years old and a rising freshman in high school * Participate in the interview process * Be able to assist for 7 of the 8 weeks of summer camp AND * Complete the CIT Orientation Session In return, we will provide: * A summer of fun activities * Opportunities to take on leadership roles, and * An engaging, learning experience The fee of $115 covers a percentage of the cost for staff shirts, field trips and Friday lunches. We will be accepting up to 16 applications but only 8-10 participants will be chosen to participate as a CIT. This decision will be determined on a first come-first-serve basis during the interview process. Applications will be accepted starting April 1st and close once all positions have been filled. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate with them to their interview. Take time out from boating and doing arts and crafts to play with a host of animals. In this session, you will swim, go geocaching and cook out over a campfire. Also play with baby goats, take part in a dog wash and an animal scavenger hunt around camp. 336-274-8491
PM Potions from the Dungeon - Bethany Christian School Campus
Come and join your fellow Hogwarts classmates in Snapes potion lab. This camp is a bewitching introduction to the world of chemistry. Each day, you will concoct new and exciting elixirs with your fellow pupils. Scientific research will be incorporated to discover and justify results. From growing crystals to making color changing flowers, the results will be magical! Students from all Houses are welcome. Wands not necessary. 480-833-7338
Counselor in Training Leadership Camp- Session 1 - Tryon Creek State Natural Area
Counselor in Training Program (C.I.T) transitions youth from being a camper into an Assistant Counselor and potential camp staff. These Leadership camps will explore child development, communication and mentorship from our excellent Camp Instructors. Participants will learn how to facilitate camp activities such as songs, games, and environmental education activities. CIT participants will learn valuable naturalist skills as well as how Oregon State Natural Areas are maintained by Park Rangers, Friends of Tryon Creek staff and volunteers. Based out of the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center, campers will spend their mornings exploring and interacting with nature. Each session will have a new and exciting theme ranging from adventures with water to local animals. Great River Advanced Camp - Great River Golf Club
The Advanced Camp offers serious game improvement for the serious junior golfer with a handicap of 15 or lower. The camp concentrate on instruction which will take a campers game to the next level, with the emphasis on mental conditioning, course management, and the short game. By utilizing tournament-like conditions, campers are taught and tested on those skills identified as being mandatory to successfully compete at even the highest competitive junior golf levels.
