Just because you're on vacation doesn't mean you have to stop your morning and evening prayers! Actually, our daughter is the one who reminded us of that and it was just one of the wonderful lessons she brought home from her time at Park River. Aside from the bible study which she was really engaged with, her favorite thing was the cast iron cooking lessons. The event will take place at the Lewiston Community Center (1424 Main Street - Lewiston, ID) from 6pm-9pm. The cost is $5/person, or $20 for a family of 5. This is our biggest fundraising event of the year. Royal Family KIDS Camp is a non-profit week-long summer camp for foster children who have been abused, abandoned, neglected, etc. All of the proceeds from this event go directly to the children we support. The ocean is full of action, adventure, and discovery. Take a new journey into the marine environment each day by foot, kayak, or SUP. Learn about bait balls, action packed salt ponds and benthic communities by pulling up animal traps and collecting bottom samples. Thrash on waves using boogie boards, go on a kayak excursion, and help choose our snorkel sites. Pick a new travel destination with your class, and decide the route to take us to our destination. Includes: kayaking, boogie boarding, snorkel adventures, playing in the salt pond and the ocean. 860-535-9362
Emergency Vet Tech II - Goleta Presbyterian Church
You asked and we responded! Our newest addition…Young Physician II, brings more great projects as young campers delve further into their amazing body systems. Campers will peel back the layers and discover how these complex organs work: learn about disease, how our body fights back, the role of mucus; and digestion, from spit to…. well, you get the idea. They will uncover how the brain works through their own personal webcam, investigate the impact of food, exercise and sleep; and discover how bones and muscles are like cookies and pancakes. They will perform hands-on experiments as they learn about body temperature and fevers, take blood pressures, bandage wounds, and create herbal medicines. Campers will use a microscope, test for germs, map their organs, build a set of teeth, brain and virus models, AND take home their own MD kit. **PLEASE NOTE: Grade level refers to rising grade level (the grade your child will enter in the fall of 2015).*** Campers spend three weeks working with a professional writer, who guides them in a number of creative pursuits: discovering new works of literature; creating poems, stories, and nonfiction; practicing the techniques of published authors; sharing work with peers; preparing work for publication; and performing work for an audience.
