Rogue Robots: LEGO Robotics Camp - San Angelo, TX
Robots aren’t just inventions in a galaxy far, far away— they exist here on Earth, at your local library! Join us this Winter Break for a Star Wars-themed robotics camp. Each day we’ll watch a clip from the movies, and build a LEGO robot inspired by the film. The library will be hosting two four-day camps—attending all four days is not mandatory, but each class will build upon the previous classes. No prior experience in LEGO robotics necessary, but seating is limited so RSVP is required. Airbrushing is a lot easier than you might think. In this class well cover beginner airbrushing from soup to nuts. Well look at airbrush selection and maintenance, paint mixing, and youll develop the skills needed to control and manipulate the airbrush for whatever your subject. Let colors and shapes drive the art-making process while exploring a variety of media! Campers will get inspiration from Picasso and Jackson Pollock as they paint and draw their own creative masterpieces. Learn how to sew this summer! In this camp, you will learn how to use a sewing machine, how to read and layout a pattern, how to cut fabric and how to sew everything together. This class will be fun and very hands on - we will start sewing the first day! We will make pajama pants, a tote bag and a zippered bag. Patterns will be provided by the instructor. Dont have a sewing machine? Rental machines will be available for classroom use. A materials list will be provided one week before camp. Summer Ice Hockey camps have been in Ann Arbor since 1984 after the arrival of Red Berenson, Michigans current head coach. The camp has built its stellar reputation by having a dedicated and professional staff, organized practices, having outstanding rink, dorm, and off-ice facilities, and a well-supervised daily schedule that is created to promote safety and most importantly, FUN!! While a week may be designated a "AAA week (those players who play at this level), the camp is still open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender). 734-647-1201
420 Intermediate Session 1 - 15 Tucks Point Rd., Manchester
The 420 Intermediate class is designed for sailors who have mastered the basics and want to enhance their sailing skills in a double-handed boat. Successful completion of two sessions of the 420 Beginner class, Opti Advanced, Opti Race Team, or a sailor who can demonstrate similar skills is required. There will be both chalkboard (pre and post sailing) and on-the-water instruction with a focus on fun while learning. Students will learn boat handling, sail trim and introductory spinnaker skills. This class has a hands on learn-to-sail focus. When complete, sailors will be able set, fly, and douse a spinnaker, demonstrate skipper/crew communication and teamwork, sail a 420 upwind, downwind, and do so with independence and confidence. This class is best for 12 – 18 year olds who are seeking to become proficient at two-person performance dinghy sailing. This is a great step towards either racing, or a recreational oriented mastery of sailing. 978-526-8345
