Our fourth week of cooking camp is for our 8-13 year old age group. In this 5 day fun filled camp, kids will visit the very places where food come's from and that's not the frozen food isle of the grocery store. Each day, we will explore the very places where beautiful, delicious, healthy food comes from. Then, it's back to the kitchen where we will create yummy dishes with the products that we learned about. Kids will have totally hands on experience both in and outside the kitchen. They will learn about nutrition, sustainability, responsible food sourcing along with basic cooking techniques, safe food handling, basic knife skills, recipe reading and so much more. Classes will be Monday thru Thursday from 8am-2pm with a fun cooking competition on Friday where the kids will cook for the parent's and compete for titles like most creative, dish, best knife skills, best use of cooking techniques and more. Hola! Join us this summer at Lets Play in Spanish, where students will learn and practice their vocabulary and conversational skills in a fun environment. The focus will be on learning Spanish through music, art, food, and field trips. Classes will be held indoors and outdoors. Field trips vary each week. Attendance for both weeks is preferable but not required. "Ambiguitos En Espanol" - a perfect option for our younger campers. "Ambiguitos En Espanol" will introduce the earliest learners to the Spanish language through games, music, dramatic play and art. Our young athletes celebrate the wide world of sports with a weeklong competition featuring sports and games from all over the globe. After the closing ceremony, campers will take their Friday field trip to the Riverwinds Community Center for some wall climbing, water sliding, and more! While morning activities are geared toward the weeks theme, all weekly FSMH camps include a trip to the pool Monday-Thursday for a swim lesson and play time.
