Join La Paz physical education instructor, Ron McAlister, and Mission Viejo High School teacher, Kelly McAlister, for a week of fun, sports, games, and exercise. Each day will be jam-packed with activities to get your heart pumping and your face smiling. We will play all kinds of sports and activities such as: indoor soccer, lacrosse, whiffle ball, volleyball, relays, floor hockey, bowling, stilts, earth ball, scooters, and more. The emphasis at La Pazitive Sports Camp is on fun, participation, and sportsmanship. All sessions will be held in the comfort of the La Paz air-conditioned gym. [UCLA UniCamp is a non-profit organization that sends youth from all over Los Angeles up for a week of camp to get away from everyday life for a bit and create the environments they want for themselves, "singing songs, playing games, and changing lives."] I know what you're thinking. "You graduated. What are you still doing here?" This is a question I had asked myself at one point before deciding to apply for camp this time around. This time…I want to do it right. I want to do it for the campers. Don’t get me wrong, my first year of camp back in 2013 was a blast. But I joined because I had a good time with the other volunteers and it was nice idea to be “doing good.” But youth aren’t just customers you can provide service for and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. KidSport Morning Week of 7/11 - 7/15 - Scarlett Middle School
KidSport Mornings Ages 4 -13[] Kids enjoy a variety of team sports, individual sports, team building games, fitness and other physical education activities and swimming lessons Director: Kerry Winkelseth, UM School of Kinesiology Campers bring snacks and water. Mornings, Monday-Friday. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Curbside Drop-off. Staff will collect your camper from your car at 8 AM and bring your camper to your car at 12 Noon. KidSport offers children the opportunity to learn and refine non-competitive sport-specific, team building and social skills. The activities are age appropriate and developed by experts in childrens physical education. KidSport is staffed by certified teachers as well as physical education and education majors focused on providing a first-rate experience for your kids! Strider Push Bike Camp - Cottonwood Creek Park
This is where it all begins! Learning fun and balance as young as 2 years old, kids and families spend 45 minutes doing age appropriate games and skills in order to achieve proper balance and steering skills. Strider (push bike) camp is geared toward kids who are walking with their bikes, not fully sitting on the seat and not yet gliding or striding. But, it is also for those kids who are ready to learn how to turn, stop and maneuver obstacles. Parents will be hands on during this class.
