Make a Joyful Noise for 3-5yrs - The Music Village

Following John Feierabends curriculum of First Steps in Music, we will be singing, acting, dancing and creating music. We are literally creating a full-immersion musical experience that can be the ground work for further musical studies, both vocal and instrumental! We will be using dance to both express music and understand lyrics; we will explore both folk and classical music pieces. Additional experiences include acting with puppets & costumes; expressive dance with hand-dyed silk scarves and ribbon sticks; and beginning instrumental play on drums and pitched instruments (xylophones, glockenspiels, ukuleles where appropriate). March 25: Spring Break Science - Summit Schools
Join Summit Schools staff and our community partners for a day on of fun, interactive activities at Learning Extensions Camp, also known as In-Service Day Camp. -Theme: Spring Break Science. Well explore, create, experiment, discover, and engineer all in the name of science! -Experiment with soil science and composting methods as the C.R. Solid Waste Agency teaches us about landfill engineering. -With the Cedar Rapids Water Department, well test water quality, PH levels, and more as we learn about the science of water. -Summits own art teacher, Miss Carol, will have us discovering the science of art through messy and fun art experiments. -Alpaca Fiber Arts will teach us all about alpacas and llamas as we create felted take-home soap and/or coasters. Illinois FC Soccer Camp (Ages: 7-12) - Jones Park
Camp will focus on technical and tactical development of each player including dribbling, passing & receiving, finishing, and defending. Coaches will use individual and small group activities, small-sided games, and world-cup style tournaments throughout the week to help each player enhance their skills. Players will be grouped by age and skill and will learn from experienced, licensed Illinois FC staff coaches. All players receive a free Illinois FC T-shirt.
