The adventurous humans uncover vegetarian vampires and rock n roll werewolves, gradually realizing there may be more to these monsters than meets the eye! Most importantly these monsters and kids discover the importance of friendship and celebrating in the attributes that make each of us different and unique. 2016 - Camp 4 Kids CIT Try-Outs - Orange, CA
The heartbeat of Camp4Kids is our volunteer staff. After all, without a great staff, who would bring the magic of summer camp to the kids and teens who need it most? Great Counselors aren't just born, they're carefully trained! Our Counselor-in-Training program (CIT for short) is the venue through which we teach teens the skills and expertise necessary to care for campers. CITs must be a minimum of 16-years-old at the time of camp. Though previous camp experience is not required, it certainly helps. After extensive training "down the hill" (outside of camp), CITs are paired with Senior Counselors while in camp, receiving first hand experience and one-on-one training, learning what it takes to be an effective leader while in a supervised and controlled environment. Being a great Counselor comes from years of training as a CIT. Come down and try out! RSVP through private message.

Do you have the right stuff to be a tennis champion? Take a week to really focus on the sport in this fun and challenging week-long camp. Children will be grouped by age and playing ability Using personal instruction, group games and drills, well teach beginning and intermediate level players all the fundamentals: forehand, backhand and overhead strokes, serves and volleys, footwork, scorekeeping, names and meanings of the lines, and more. Teacher: Pam Peters Theres nothing like some time in the great outdoors. Pam will lead children through and adventure in art exploring nature and outdoor themes. They will incorporate items they find in the outdoors on nature walks during camp or those they find on their own. Campers will learn the basics of 3D game design, including models, textures, volumes, lighting, and more as they create their game from start to finish. During camp, campers will use real game design principles as they design their game on the X, Y and Z axes to create an immersive 3D world. Theyll also learn to use our proprietary, age-appropriate game design software, OWL Game Creator, as they develop skills that will help them pursue game development at a professional level. 7th-9th Grade film campers in are in for a fun and exciting hands-on introduction to the media arts in a beautiful natural setting. Start the week filming around the natural beauty of the Icicle Creek Campus, followed by two days of editing and post production. From concept to final cut, young filmmakers will experience each step of the creative process and experiment with new technologies. Campers will learn how to conduct a meaningful interview, handle a camera, set up a shot, record audio, and even shoot aerials from a drone. And once the footage is all gathered, of course, it all has to be organized and edited. By the end of the week, campers will have planned, shot and edited their own movie and well cap it all off with a family screening complete with popcorn!
