If youve ever wanted to design a play jungle for hamsters, a four-story luxury dog house, or the coolest cat castle the world has ever seen, this class is for you! In this workshop, well use Design Thinking to research, invent, and prototype new solutions for happier pets. Come prepared to create, think about animals, and build a pet utopia! Instructor Bio: Rei Jackler is an Oakland arts educator, design teacher, writer, and maker nerd. She holds a Masters in Teaching from Stanford University, where she also trained in Design Thinking at the D.School. In Oakland, she is currently Makerspace Manager for the La Escuelita Elementary School Makerspace, and has also taught design with Chapter 510. Rei loves making of all kinds: knitting multi-colored scarves, writing fantastical short stories, and baking with a lot of chocolate. Teen Times M-F Session 1 - Prairie View Community Center
A summer at Teen Times camp is filled with activities such as sports, swimming, crafts and fun! Teens will take an active role in planning their daily schedules. Field trips will be twice a week (usually Wednesdays and Fridays). We will be swimming at the pool two afternoons a week so campers should bring a swimsuit, towel and lunch daily, unless otherwise noted. GRADES 6th - 8th LOCATION Activity Room

Glamorize Your Doll - Lower School
Get set for some serious sewing fun! Our Glamorize Your Doll program is designed for campers that have always had the desire to create trendy clothes and accessories for their very own 18 doll. Patient, kind, and skilled handwork studio counselors will teach techniques such as machine and hand-sewing, embroidery, and other embellishing techniques, then allow campers to craft their own unique creations for their doll.
