Capoeira Kid's Summer Camp - South Jordan, UT
Capoeira Kids Camp Kids! Join Capoeira Utah this July for fun, fitness, and a fantastic cultural experience at Capoeira Kids Camp. Capoeira is a unique Brazilian martial art that combines kicks and dodges with acrobatics and dance like movements all performed to live music! Camp takes place from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Tuesday & Thursday, July 5 & 7, and July 12 & 14. Each day we'll do special capoeira training in levels for both beginners and experienced students as well as: Portuguese language Singing and Playing Instruments Acrobatics training Crafts (make your own maculele costume and sticks, wooden machete, and/or feathered samba headress) Traditional dances: Samba, maculele, a capoeira choreography and more! Camp is open to kids ages 6-11 with or without previous experience in capoeira. Cost: Full camp is $150 per child ($25 discount for students currently enrolled at Capoeira Utah.), and $90 for half camp, $50 non-refundable deposit due July 1st. Balance due prior to start of camp. Teen Sewing Boot Camp - Edmonds, WA
Is your teen bored already? Sign him/her up for our week long beginning sewing boot camp running Monday through Friday, July 19 through 22 from 10 am to 2 pm daily. They will learn basic hand sewing techniques by hand making their own pin cushion and then graduate to sewing a pillowcase, pajama pants a skirt and other cool stuff., including getting to participate in a community project. You will need to bring your own sewing machine if you have one, and basic sewing supplies. A list of fabrics and notions will be sent to you once you have registered. Cost is $100. 2016 Stanford Synchro Swim Camp - Overnight - Stanford Athletics
Stanford Synchro Swim Camp will allow athletes the opportunity to work with Olympic medalists, National Team coaches and coaches of the Stanford University Synchronized Swimming Team. During this camp, athletes will focus on and learn the importance of injury prevention based land training, sport-specific muscle strengthening, and translation of these elements into the water. They will learn the technical warm-up Stanford Synchro athletes use to train, and a short Stanford Synchro routine to perform at the end of camp. Drama Club: Really Rosie and the Nutshell Kids - The Philadelphia School
This year, The Drama Club will be putting on a production of Maurice Sendak and Carole Kings REALLY ROSIE. It follows a typical summer day in the life of the Nutshell Kids, a group of neighborhood friends, including Pierre, Alligator, Johnny, Chef Jeff from the Nutshell Library books, and Rosie and Kathy from The Sign on Rosies Door. Rosie — the self-proclaimed sassiest kid on her block of Brooklyns Avenue P and based on a girl Sendak knew as a child growing up in Brooklyn — entertains everyone by directing and starring in an Oscar-winning movie based on the exciting, dramatic, funny (and slightly exaggerated) story of her life. Drama Club meetings will be run both as rehearsals (starting with warm-ups, followed by blocking, running of scenes, vocal work, and choreography) AND prop, set, & costume design and/or painting and building time. Members will work together to come up with the design of the show and use club time to execute some set and prop pieces, as well as costume pieces.
