Campers will interact and explore their creative ideas, as Dawn Sommerfield from DeMarcos School Of Music will teach basic songwriting. Campers will analyze popular music and use those songwriting formulas to compose lyrics and music in a fun group setting. Campers that play an instrument are encouraged to bring their instrument, however no previous musical experience is required. All who want to be creative are welcome. Prepare for SAT success! In this rigorous, half-day camp, youll learn the form and style of the test--which was completely redesigned as of March 2016-- as well as the essential content and strategies for approaching each question type on the math section of the SAT. During the week, youll learn strategies for approaching math questions that not only will help you move through the test more efficiently but will also help improve your accuracy. We will also review the essential skills and concepts you need to know from pre-algebra, algebra 1 and 2, and geometry. Youll leave this camp with the confidence and skills to make your best score yet on SAT math! Prerequisite: Common Core Math I and II or equivalent. (An SAT book will be provided. Drumset Camp - 4th-8th grades - Wichita Collegiate School
Instructor: Hake Drumset Camp will be a week full of drum excitement! We will learn the basics of a drumset in rock and pop drumming and how to further your skills for playing with any type of group! We will learn how to read a drum chart, play along to music, and more. Music knowledge and experience are encouraged. There will be a beginner class and an intermediate class. The week will culminate with a performance on Friday afternoon where we will rock out as a group. *Players are welcome to bring their own drum kit. Advanced Robotics with LEGO EV3-Gayton Baptist - Gayton Baptist Church
Using LEGOs New EV3 Space Challenge Set and Activity Pack, campers are introduced to robotics with a very current and real-world theme, traveling to and living on Mars! Campers will work as scientists and engineers as they progress through a set of lessons, challenges, and projects that fully integrate science, technology, engineering, and math concepts, while prompting creative problem solving, communication, and teamwork. Campers will learn the basics of gears to help them apply physical science and math principles to build effective robots. They will also progress through a series of missions in which they investigate, observe, calculate, and apply their knowledge to solve specific tasks. Our space engineers will conduct research as they explore, plan, and develop three fundamental challenges NASA engineers and scientists are working to solve: How to endure humans can survive in space; how humans can create energy in space; and how robots can help humans explore space. 678-294-9504
